I test drove a Premium extend version today, not the GT. It was fantastic. Smooth, quiet, powerful, great handling. The Mach e would probably be my #1 choice. I've driven several other EVs as well.
Great review Eric. I loved your son's reaction to the launch. One thing you didn't mention that I would be keen to hear your opinion on is ride quality. Does the 'magneride' that comes as standard with the GT improve the feel of our potted Ontario roads? Thanks
It's tough to answer the pothole question as this wasn't the time of year when we see a lot of them. But on roads that are showing their age, I found the ride to be fine. It's not riding on air suspension, so I temper my expectations, but given that it's a performance oriented vehicle, I was fine with the overall ride. Thanks for the kind feedback as well. @@collinsv4742 The right way to ask is whether or not this vehicle is capable of getting 280 miles, and the answer to that is absolutely, yes! But if you're asking me whether you will get 280 miles, that's something I cannot answer. I say that simply because there are many variables that can impact range one way or another and I don't know what your variables are. Driving style, highway vs city ratio, area climate, topography and more can all impact the range you get - which are the same considerations that factor into fuel economy as well. So, I can't tell you that you will achieve 280 miles if you pick one up, but I can tell you that it's definitely possible and you don't need to be hypermiling to get there.
@@TheNovakReport thank you. Its range is the only thing holding me back. Our Tesla is still alive & kicking after 8 yrs and 171,000 miles. Its max range after charging has gone from 254 miles when new and now 212 miles after battery degradation. I am looking to add another EV and refuse to get another tesla. I test drove a 2024 Mach E GT last week. It's a nice, quick car.
@@collinsv4742 I would add that the quality of batteries today compared to 8 years ago is significantly better, so that is something to keep in mind. Good luck with your decision making!
