Gentleman, kudos and greetings from Slovakia! I work in the car industry and don't always enjoy the topic in my free time too, but find your podcast really great and as an old grumpy guy have to admit that even your "young people" are insightful and enjoyable to listen to... But anyway, that's enough compliments for the day, going to go rant about something else now 😉😄🤷‍♂️

Love the podcast and what your team puts together. I currently own (since December 2023) a 2023 Kia Sorrento AWD Diesel Sport+- in the old shape. I was not a fan of the new front or the 1 long screen…. I love the Sorrento I have. I am with you the operating systems are getting to complicated. I just want to drive with the basics. Does the extra techs stuff cause more issues / recalls in the longer term I wonder. Keep up the great work. I have 1 question for your Q&A if you see this - when Paul does heavy breaking on a lot of the cars why do the hazards come on? Is this a safety thing or what? Thanks!

Question on Sorento speed alerts, are they on the actual speed/GPS speed? Or are the alerts on the speedometer speed which could be showing 60 when the car is only travelling 55? The former I can forgive, the latter I can't!

I get 5.5 to 6lt on my 130km driv to Brisbane for work from the sunny coast... doing 100 and 110 kmh in the 2021 sport plus diesel

Good day (South African time). Thanks for the podcast. Raised my curiosity on recalls! A few years back, there was a problem with Ford Kuga. The car would just ignite fire from the engine and has caused a few fatalities here in South Africa. However, I am trying to remember a recall or fair compensation due to this failure.

I have also been playing with the Macan EV on the configurator and I think the rear looks better when you have the roof rails! I also really like the Macan, I don't like the rear end that much but it's fine :), To me the problem is in its price 💀 It's SO much more expensive now 💀💀

With regards to infotainment and HVAC controls, Honda has showed that you can have the same system and hard buttons used across its whole range. VW and Mazda used to do this with their HVAC (same controls across golf, passat, Leon, Octavia etc) and mzd systems. Doable, but brands won't...

I'm new to your podcasts and really enjoy them, thanks. As to your Q and A, how about some commentary and thought on what type of new car to buy today - ev, hybrid, ice, phev?? How long are fossil fuels gonna be around, will ice vehicles be unusable and worthless in 5, 10 or 15 years, will EVs ever fully take off given our big country? It's the $64 question for many!

Problem is stop / start doesn't work for long before the battery has depleted to a point that the engine does not stop/start anymore anyway . It may cut a fraction of pollution but certainly isn't saving you anything meaningful at the bowser.
