2024 Lincoln Navigator: Better Than The Escalade? 

Heck yes to the 5.0. Supercharged or not.

It's really time for LINCOLN to include multiple engine option for the navigator especially thy hyprid, it's already in f150, it extendes the engine and the breaks live, less frequent oil and pads change cycle and fuel up stops, that is considered luxury too

Can we have a side to side comparison of Jeep Grand Wagoneer top end trim latest model with the latest model of Lincoln Navigator top end trim.

In 2018 this was the SUV to beat , But now it just looks old-school and needs a major refresh in the inside.

I agree with other commentors. Lincoln needs a full update/revised Navigator with Hybrid tech, full screens, lighter weight materials etc. To pay >100K for something that was created in 2017 for the 2018 model year is a definite NO from a competitive buyer situation. I also wouldn't buy/lease the 24' escalade - knowing a full redesign release is happening in this next model year. I think Lincoln will be in a liquidation mode on Aviator/Navigator models, both are long into their life cycle(s) and today's premium buyers (under the age of 60) are too smart to pay near or above 6 figures to get yester-year design and tech.

Thanks for the review. Can you compare the ride comfort between the navigator and the Escalade with air suspension. I think that’s the main difference between them since navigator doesn’t offer air suspension.

I am not a fan of Ford's turbocharged V-6 motors which they insist on putting in big vehicles needing the torque of a V-8. I agree, with a 5.0 minimum. I love my 2021 Ram Limited with the 540 foot pounds of torque with it's Hemi E-Torque. My Ram rides like a luxury SUV with the air suspension & coils on all 4 corners.

I have a 2020 Navigator L Black Label and went ahead and just bought another one. I wanted to want an Escalade - better cargo space (but feels bigger to drive), softer ride, better exterior look (all my opinion) but I will not buy that 6.2L V-8 as there are all sorts of problems with them. Almost guaranteed to have a lifter problem sooner or later. I didn't want to wait for the remodeled Navigator so went ahead. I had looked hard at the Grand Wagoneer L as I really liked the ride and drive as it felt smaller despite being bigger, but again so many issues and resale will be terrible on them. Kind of rode between the two (not as soft as Escalade, not as firm as Navigator). In the end I just wanted a new car and stuck with what I knew. I get better massage seats over my 2020 ... bigger screen and better operating software. I do wish the cargo area was a touch larger but it's big enough for us and I wish it rode a bit better around town but I like the ride on the open road. I guess at least no complexity with an air suspension.

Aside from the laggy tech and the fact they put the wrong engine in this truck (it may be fancy, but it's still a truck), I like the Navigator. Between this and the Escalade, I like the design (interior and exterior) and fit and finish of the Lincoln more. At least from the front seats forward, it's pretty classy. Everything to the rear of the front seats is right out of a minivan and screams "cheap with a faux-leather seat cover." I mean, I've seen church pews that looked more comfortable than those 2nd row seats. There's a worrying trend of these companies trying to stuff V6 engines in these full-size trucks/SUVs and then gaslight everyone that they're awesome. They're not. They're dogs at the best of times, and dangerous in situations where you need power and can't get any. Ford has no excuse. They have a selection of V8s to choose from. They're just being lemmings with the V6 trend. I guarantee you, a Ford V8 would've been quieter at cruise, more powerful when you need it to be, and sound fantastic when you get on it hard. I don't care how many turbos you stick on a V6, it's not going to perform as well as a V8. It's the whole "no replacement for displacement" thing. I'm not a V8 purist by any means. For instance, a Subaru WRX STi will smoke most performance cars on the road and it has a relatively small engine, but it's also a relatively small car. I'm kind of a truck guy, myself, so it makes me a little sick to see these anemic power trains in these big trucks/SUVs. At the end of the day, if you're gonna drive something this big, you should just come to terms with the fact you're going to have to feed the monster engine that comes with it, not stick a V6 under the hood and call it better.

PHEV Navigator - in the most need of better fuel economy, in the most need of more power cause it's the heaviest, and since the PHEV will be the most expensive powertrain you mine as well give it the most power like Porsche. 600+HP, 700+lb-ft torque.

Haven't driven one but been a passenger many times in these and I'm always a bit surprised by how jarring the ride is. They don't seem to absorb bumps very well, which is surprising for a top of the line luxury SUV. Or maybe Uber black drivers aren't maintaining their vehicles😂

That ride has more electronics than a Radio Shack. God help you if they become glitchy!

I think they should have more engine options. Ecoboost, a 5.0, and some sort of hybrid.

Thank you for your review of the Navigator. I have to seen this vehicle in person and it is basic looking. Ford, has played it too safe compared to the Cadillac lineup. "Yes," they need a (COYOTE) engine with two (2) turbos; since, turbos are better than other types of (REGULAR) long-term boost. My example is Nitrous, that cannot be 100% of the time in ("regular") conditions, as turbos can. That is what I mean. Respectfully, just my position, others may think differently, that is what makes America great.

the Expedition and the Navigator used to have V8s in them so it wouldn't be like first time for the Navigator I would call it a not a rebirth but a comeback with V8s in the Navigator. But yeah I do think it would sell well since Ford is now the only one with the V8 Mustang and chevy killed the Camaro and Dodge killed the Charger and Challenger

Escalade must have overheating problems with their massive grille. I like the Nav better, especially the main display screen. Only thing is they need better designed rims.

I must admit. I loved this version of the Navigator when it came out and I was like “Man there is no other car maker touching this”. Then the Escalade came out with full curved screen displays and shit all over Lincoln. Then they came out with the Escalade V which totally changed my viewpoint. I’m a Ford guy up until a few months ago when my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium’s transmission went out as soon as it went over 100k miles. A ten thousand dollar valued car lost its value overnight. Toyota makes the best looking 3 rowed SUV on the market. It’s cheaper than Navigator and it will last over 100k miles. Sorry Ford. You make good looking vehicles but you shit on your customers. Also I took my Explorer ST to the dealership to have tires rotated and get the car back and the tires are in same spot. I know because two separate rims have tiny dings on them and they didn’t change them. Yet they charged me full price. Needless to say they got ripped a new one and I get free tire rotations for life now.

Certainly, the Escalade outshines it in various aspects. The exterior of Lincoln lacks style, and the interior, with its peculiar screen protrusion, brings to mind the Toyota Rav4 dashboard. The potential superiority lies in horsepower, contingent on RPM considerations. There two types of people that come to mind who would buy this car: 1. People who have been Lincoln owners for a long time, 2. Lower price than other competitors(if that’s the case).
