Actually you should compare the XUV 700 with the Safari as it build is build on a monocoque & the Scorpio N is built on a ladder frame so both of these are build for different purpose. One is a desi Range Rover Defender & the other is a "go anywhere" tough bull.
It's based on a much cheaper Land Rover Discovery Platform, not on the Range Rover. Range Rover is a completely different ball game. Btw where is the 4x4 of the so called "Desi Range Rover"?
People blame Safari and Harrier for not having AWD, but we should see that these cars are the most capable FWD car for off roading and anyway only 15% of the owners would go for extreme off-roading, most of the owners are looking for comfort, features, styling, etc.
If I m paying more than 20lakh for an suv, I must get 4x4 feature. Period. If I needed only features and comfort I wud gone for Hyundai because tuccson is the best in its segment

@rajdeepbhullar1688 I don't know why few people always refer to the high speed of 180km, as if they will always be at 180km speed. And none of the ladder frame vehicles are not made for high speeds. Definitely monocoque vehicles are good for high speeds but that doesnt mean its the only reason to choose a vehicle.the answer to your question, I did test drive of both new Safari and ScorpioN , still my personal choice is ScorpioN only. For the driving feel on any road I always choose ScorpioN but I agree Safari is beautiful looking car with premium features.
I agree with you on power. I have driven both safari and harrier. Scorpio n just zooms and safari is having a lag. I test drived around half dozen diesel vehicles. But none would match that adrenaline rush scorpion n provides
Ignore comments of people supporting safari, half of them own a splender bike. Scorpio N is just a better car if you are the kne driving. I can say this as I have scorpio N
The Xuv 700 & Safari are both fwd/awd and monocoques and should have been compared. The Scorpio N is a BOF Rwd/4wd SUV. The Safari looks better with more features, but the Mahindra has a better & more reliable engine. 🙌
If Mahindra improves after sales nothing can beat their SUVs. I have Scorpio N petrol amd the drive is so smooth. Safari after borrowing parts from everywhere is like a gift packed well whereas Scorpio N is a real car with no gimmicks but only business.
Safari front look is very very classy but the rear upper body needs to be widened.. The steep upward body looks very awkward. Ofcourse the side profile looks very nice ❤
Safari and Scorpio are being compared since 20 years. Scorpio is still body on frame while Safari didn’t retain that DNA. Also, if anyone is shopping with a budget of 25-30 lakh, they will check every SUV in that price range

Scorpio N hands down. RWD, BOF, 4×4 & last but not the least The Awesome driving position!!!!! actually towers over every other car. The Safari should be compared with the 700.

There is no comparison between 2. One is ( SN) "Real" SUV with body of frame, Rear wheel drives, 4X4, & Rugged.. Other one ( Safari) is front wheel drive ( like Car) with high ground clearance. Yes, Safari has good power and Torque similar like SN. But there is not comparison. If you want to compare, Compare with XUV700 vs Safari. Tata should use Old Safari characteristics- (body of frame, Rear wheel drives, 4X4, & Rugged..) in new Safari to compare against SN.

There's no comparison scorpion is more of a real Suv with ladder chassis + real wheel drive with 4×4 optional. While tata safari is more of a Suv sized hatchback with front wheel drive. Scorpion is a sport utility vehicle, the go anywhere vehicle while safari is a city oriented car , that's that!

Biggest drawback of safari is At 20 lakh scorpio z6 you will get all needed feature and look But safari base varient cost 20 lakh which doesn't have infortainment system 😢 And resale value & service tooo Scorpio after 5 year you will get 14-15 lakh Where safari resale value will around 9-10 lakh
After launching and till date , in any Major Accident, Scorpio N performed Worst , there r record of 5-7 Occupants Died on Spot in Scorpio N . But Safari seemed Performed amazingly well even in High speed roll Over , and saved its Occupants . This is Fact , not any Story or Gimmick. If i go with any True indian Brand , i'll definitely go with TATA, The true Practical Gem of India.
My neighbour died in an accident on a safari. This car strictly need to be crash tested. We indians are not fools dat tata thinks about. But I m proud of Mahindra, they are very versatile with their products and has varieties of options in their Scorpio and XUV models. Also they are officially 5stars safety rated vehicles. Now this is fact, not any story or gimmick or some blind follower of tata or Mahindra

I'm 6'2" tall guy when I sat on 3rd row of safari I didn't face any problem in knee room and comfort you can slightly adjust 2nd row seat which can create knee room.

For a new buyer, one should take test drive of both the cars and no one will ever want to buy any other car than scorpio n. The sitting position of driver is way much commanding than any other car.
IMO we shouldn't compare safari with Scorpio N. Safari is FWD monocoque family vehicle. Whereas scorpion N is RWD LOF go anywhere SUV. Safari is for the person who wants a comfortable cruiser for long highway rides for his family and Scorpio N is for the person who loves adventure and wants to explore places
Main thing is Power , which is much less in Safari compared to ScorpioN. You can feel that while you drive Safari. Then the next is Driving Performance is much better in ScopioN. Safari is having more electronics and touches , be careful.

Safari is loaded with features and seems like a 6 seater sedan. Whereas scorpio n is rugged 4x4 and proper suv. If suv is considered definitely this scorpio n. Ps. Offroad capabilities in scorpio n
Exactly I'm also thinking about the same thing, the 2nd row seats in Safari are slidable whereas it is fixed in Scorpio N, but I don't why he didn't mention that while comparing. Also, every other automobile journalist or car reviewer claims that Safari offers the most kneeroom in its segment while Scorpio N is generally known for having the least but here he said the exact opposite of that. Don't know what was actually going on there.
It’s completely bisas for scorpion. I jst test drive scorpion at. Its slight slow.changing gear feels while its at eventhough. Scrolion small infotainment screen n very low e resolution. These things not said by him, its sponsored video by Mahindra
Lets just acknowledge that although mahindra service needs to be improved but all their cars and awd or 4*4 techs are home grown. Their engines are best in segment. U can hear various issues with mahindra vehicles but engine n gearbox won't cause issues. Tata sources their platform engine and gearbox from various companies but fir Mahindra its every thing home grown. So mahindra is a non brainer winner.

I want to go out often for holiday in in the hills and besides all seven seats occupied, Scorpio-N offers more luggage space inside plus overhead luggage career option which is not available in Safari with 7 passengers coz no luggage space inside and no luggage career option due to panoramic sunroof. Plus 4x4 option.
