How did Toyota not have these issues resolved in year three of this model

I am assuming it has to do with building a brand new platform from the ground up while also cutting corners on quality. It really is disappointing and frustrating.

@@ZetaDogProductions R&D on a new truck should be done before going to market . Treating the buying public like a guineapig and a piggybank bank for R&D is very troubling for me at the cost of a new Truck. Realistically this truck design probably started 2 years before it came to market, so the design is going on about 5 years old since inception. IMHO more than enough time to work out the issues plaguing this truck model.

I bought a 2024 Crewmax Limited hybrid. The power train is awesome! Unfortunately, I may get rid of it. The door is leaking air into the cab, and the road noise sounds like the window is cracked open. Toyota has acknowledged others have the same complaint, but no fix yet.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the 3r gen Tundra. I have looked at this truck for quite some time and have decided to buy something else because of all the problems this truck seams to have after 3 years of production. Very disappointing for a Toyota truck! Also the lack of factory designed front recovery hooks is a huge miss IMHO for an offroad truck.
@ZetaDogProductions

I agree, it is very disappointing. As others have pointed out, ALL manufacturers are having issues right now, but Toyota does seem better than others in addressing issues in a timely matter. It just sucks because this truck does drive really well and does all the truck stuff without issues. Hopefully Toyota cleans this stuff up, but either way, I'll keep updating y'all!

And this is why I bought my 21' 1794, actually 2 reasons..... First, this is my retirement gift to myself 😊...... Second, also because I knew they were eliminating the 5.7 V8. So now I have a truck that will outlast the third gens, That's just my two cents 😉

It's not just Toyota it's every brand having issues but with Toyota it primarily doesn't appear to be anything that leaves you without a truck for a extended period of time at least from what I read. Just annoying little interior stuff and minor mechanical stuff. I know of a guy personally with either a 21 or 22 Silverado and his truck was in the shop for around 4-6 weeks with some part that they claimed was on backorder. But I truly believe that the dealer just took their sweet time, but you never know.

When I worked as a tech at a Toyota dealer, we would have tried some anti-rattle foam or felt on the window switch bezels. That was 15yrs ago, but I would imagine the practice would be the same. Toyota isn’t alone with quality control issues. Our 21 Subaru Ascent has all sorts of little things that bother me that shouldn’t be there for a 3yr old car. I notice them because that’s what I do, but my wife doesn’t notice them. I’m just hyper attentive to squeaks, rattles and qc items.
@ZetaDogProductions
@ZetaDogProductions 2 месяца назад
I'm pretty sure they used foam/felt for the fix, although they might have replaced one of the units. Interesting about your Ascent. We have a '20 Outback and that thing has been super solid, no issues.
@cpftank09
@cpftank09 2 месяца назад
@@ZetaDogProductions ya the Outback is a pretty sorted vehicle and in my eyes the flagship of Subaru. Although, I’ve had 2 23 Outback’s (one limited 2.5 and an XT Limited) that had the same front end clunk over small bumps as our 21 Ascent that’s still a mystery to the dealer. I haven’t crawled under to find it for myself, but they’ve replaced almost every suspension component on the car. I think it’s in the steering rack or steering shaft since I can feel it in the steering wheel too.

My 24 Limited does not have the loose door handles inside or out that you were pulling on or no wind noise, or no rear end noise. Mine runs great. You must have bought one that was built on Monday , LOL. You must have got a Lemon. I don't think most people are having these problems. You need to have them buy it back from you if you are not satisfied and get something else. Sounds like you got too many problems with your truck. My advice, get rid of it.

Ok, thanks a ton for posting this, how many miles are on your truck?. I have a 2024 SR5 with only 1,000 miles on it. I’m concerned about having some of these issues you mention. Can they just disconnect or remove the front spoiler? I’d rather give up the mileage and not deal with the stupid motor. Re: The rear differential, when and how many miles did you have when you started noticing the sound or issues? Lastly, the window bezel, what exactly is the problem and what should one be looking for on this issue? Thanks again
@ZetaDogProductions
@ZetaDogProductions 2 месяца назад
My truck has over 4k miles on it. I don't know if Toyota will disconnect or remove the front spoiler for you, as doing so will throw a bunch of errors on the dash. I believe there is a way to bypass this, but I'm pretty sure doing it yourself will void the warranty. I probably started noticing the rear diff making a hum/vibration consistently at around 2,500-3,000 miles. Although, the issue could have been there sooner. Here's a video I posted about the window control bezels. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wg5iQ7-qRVE.htmlsi=Mpg_LfYhCfFsqLV9 Mine were loose and had tons of play in them. Apparently this issues is hit or miss, but it just seems like this part is just poorly designed and constructed.

Is the hum that you hear when accelerating at 70 a low sound? My 23 has more of a sort of whistle when accelerating at 75+, but from the research I saw online of people experiencing the same whistle said it wasnt uncommon but also not an issue.
@ZetaDogProductions
@ZetaDogProductions Месяц назад
It's a droning/hum, not a whistle. I would say it's not low, definitely noticeable. It's actually worse now. Toyota narrowed it down to a bad differential the first time. They found metal shavings in the diff and corporate recommended the diff replacement. So I am certain they know it's not normal.

Bought a new 2024 Platinum Crew Max (non-hybrid) I have now 2,400K miles on it. So far two issues: 1- Driver leg seat extender broke - Dealer replaced it under warranty a week ago. 2- Noise coming from the backseat while driving. If someone is seating on the backseat noise stops. Looks like is coming from inside the seats and is annoying. I still can't figure it out where exactly. I will not take it to the dealer yet because I know they will say "we cannot reproduce it" which it will be a waste of time for me. Once I know exactly where is coming from I'll take a video/proof and take it to the dealer to get it fix. Maybe something is loose inside one of the rear seats who knows.. It sucks when you paid 67K for the Truck and you have issues like this. First time a Toyota owner though.

the first year on most new vehicles have issues. you are right to upset with the third year of production. covid for sure didn't help. vehicles from 2020-2021 (depending on parts from manufacturers) thru this decade will probably be suspect in my opinion. A 5th gen 4runner will be my next vehicle. my 2005 4runner will do for now. i will wait and see if all the hate on the new Tacoma is warranted and maybe wait til the third or fourth year model. i think toyota learned a lot about the new Tundra when they developed the new 2.4 turbo for the Tacoma when those waste gates were failing in the first year model.
