2025 MG HS Revealed: Features and Specs That Rival the RAV4

Prepare for the highly anticipated release of the all-new MG HS in Australia in August, after its big reveal from July 11-14 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This mid-sized SUV from the next generation is expected to wow with its innovative design, performance, and elegance.
The MG HS will be available in five thrilling varieties, according to clearance paperwork, even though official photos have not yet been made public. Two will have a more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a nine-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, while the other three will have a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. This is an improvement over the previous model, which had a less sophisticated six-speed dual-clutch gearbox but comparable engine options.
Soon after the original debut, a plug-in hybrid variant should be added to the range. It's thought that the new MG HS is a somewhat modified RX5 from Roewe, another SAIC Motor brand. European patent papers reveal a car with the MG nameplate that is almost similar to the Roewe RX5, with the exception of a front fascia.
The 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine of the RX5 produces 300 newton meters of torque and 138 kilowatts of power in China, which is a big increase over the existing HS. A seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox is mated to this engine. A 2.0-liter engine is not available in the Chinese RX5, but it is available in other SAIC Motor vehicles, such as the MG 7 sedan, which is also making its way to Australia. The 2.0-liter engine of the MG 7 produces an amazing 405 newton meters of torque in addition to 192 kilowatts of power.
