Fred shot 41% from three on 10 attempts a game before the all star break and his injury garland is a s significantly better shooter😂 Joel I beg you bring me any stretch of garlands career where he has shot that well on that kind of volume I’m begging you
@@Bandicoot19 I will say DG pull up 3 pt shooting last year was insane. His catch and shoot dropped a bit though. DG don’t have the volume as Fred so I’ll give you that. Overall shooting I got DG but Fred got the 3 pt shooting atleast for last year.
why are we acting like the raptors offense is just so horrible compared to these other teams just cause they don’t have a guy who scores 28 ppg lol every player on that team averaged 15+ points and Siakam averaged 26 towards the end of the season
Yeah true. Even he stays the same he’s a beast. They forget he missed the start of the season and was still rusty for a while. He was balling out to end the season and now he had a healthy offseason. Plus he talks shit about Siakam like he didn’t just make all nba unlike anyone on the cavs or anyone on the heat but they’re still ranked ahead of us. Ruined his own argument saying it goes with best player because he’s better than anyone on a few of the teams he has ahead of the raps
Drew, I’m with you on Raptors 5 seed. Stand tall. People sleep on how much their team got hit by injury and being in Tampa last two years. They aren’t load managing. Strong org, strong coach, Barnes/GTJ/Precious all can grow. The core been there in 2019. East is deep but Raps are top 7 and they have a higher floor than most these others.
Raptors starters: Scottie/fred/Og/Siakam/Precious Raptors bench: Gary/opj/Thad/Boucher That Raptors lineup posted the best 5 man defensive rating in the league when they played together. You got an 18 ppg scorer off your bench with pascal and Scottie as your backup guards (our backup guards last year were the same two guys btw) that’s depth. This my third time commenting my god Joel’s takes on the raps suck please do your research
Right! Bro when they started listing the bench as just Boucher and Banton I was cheesed. Thad is great, OPJ a great addition, Precious showed huge development. Not to mention Flynn (will see if he can look good but he’s got a chance at least) and We’ll have to see about Koloko as well. Acting like it’s the same bench as last year is so wild plus we have a strong enough starting lineup to stagger and help these guys
yall have no problem projecting for players like mobley and cade but when it comes to the raptors and expecting them to be better next season, apparently it's a problem to project when it comes to scottie, your toronto bias is crazy
Exactly, any other team with the ROY, allstar point guard, 2x all-nba player, former coach of the year as well as nba champ, and a starting lineup consisting of 5 15+ ppg scorers would be projected to be at a minimum, a conference finals contender
Joel said it wasn’t easy for KD in Golden State??? Do ppl understand the shooting ability of Steph & Klay? The versatility of Dray? The depth of that bench ? The coaching ? The culture? The system?
DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW GREAT OF A SHOOTER KD ALREADY WAS BEFORE GS???? DID YOU WATCH THE WARRIORS IN 2018 AND 2019???? THEY WEREN'T RUNNING THROUGH ANYONE IN THOSE YEARS.
@@bme4449 So great, yet didn't have any playoff success until he joined the Dubs. They won the chip in 18 and were an injury and shot away from a game 7 in 19; What're you talking about?
@@bme4449 4 deep playoff runs that resulted in what? How many WCF appearances, and Finals appearances? Like previously stated, great, not legendary, and isn't a champ without Steph and teh Warriors.
@@remnant8898 12 all stars, 4x scoring titles, an mvp, with a rookie of the year award IS DEFINITELY LEGENDARY. Him not being a champ without the warriors Is irrelevant. If you're a champion you're a champion.
Having the Raptors at 8th and 9th is disrespectful. Toronto went from being a trash 27-45 team two seasons ago in Tampa to being a 48-34 5th seed the next season. The Raptors have been one of the most consistent teams in the NBA over the last 10 years. Every year people say they have no shot creation or depth and yet they keep winning games. Defense is their calling card
@@spicyshizz2850 ? They were bad 2 seasons ago when they probably had to fight wild crocodiles to get to the stadium to hear opposing fans chant for Tacko Fall. But over the last 10 years, they're 4th in wins in the entire league.
Cavs are very overated, mitchell + garland is the worst defensive backourt in the league and they don't have any wings, which is the most important position.
I literally just rewatched the 2006 finals! I wanted to see about these foul shots that everyone remembers. What happened was Dirk shot pretty poorly, especially when it mattered and the Mavericks were a jump shooting team who didn’t attack the rim. They were like the Warriors before the Warriors, but they didn’t come through in clutch moments, especially Dirk. Wade shot crazy good and attacked the rim like a mad man from game 3-6. Those foul calls were seriously earned. Much respect to Wade especially since Shaq was so below average in those finals. I didn’t remember how bad he was. Dampier basically played Shaq off the floor 😬 along with him getting double teamed.
My East prediction this year(My last year East prediction was really bad, hope to do better this year): 1. 76ers 2. Raptors 3. Celtics 4. Cavs 5. Bucks 6. Hawks 7. Heat 8. Nets 9. Bulls 10. Knicks 11. Wizards 12. Pistons 13. Hornets 14. Magic 15. Pacers
@@Bandicoot19 I don't think the Raptors are better than those contending team with better star power (Nets is an exception, they are just too fragile for me to trust), but I think in the regular season, a young, rising hard-working team with good chemistry, like the Raptors and last year Memphis, may have more wins than other established veteran teams.
Those same Celtics didn’t guard Steph the way they guarded KD, KD was guarded by 3-4 Celtics at all times the Celtics let the greatest shooter of all time go 1 on 1 he did what he did can we bring context into that cuz Ime himself said KD alone 1 on 1 can beat us so he blitzed and triple teamed every time KD touched the basketball
@@bme4449 lol. Can’t win before Steph or after. Can u get around that? Can he get around them? Maybe it’s why he be on Twitter answering broke Niggas like me
Raptors are the most consistent team in the nba. They will always Barely scratch or reach 50 wins when healthy. Siakam has had his first full season of development. He will be better next season. Fvv is playing off the ball where he excels and I expect them top 5
The 2 teams in NBA finals last season also had the 2 best defensive ratings. Going back further reveals similar observations. Now compare that to offensive ratings. So, when comparing players at same position, too many people undervalue defense. Why? It's harder to quantify. Plus, you don't evaluate teams on individuals, you evaluate them based on the sum of the parts. Case in point, Raptors were 33-17 in last 50 games. Apparently that would be impossible with only 1 shot creator. BTW, most offenses today use screens.
Joel bugging about the Celtics, he really thinks Smart & Brogdon are gonna beef about the starting spot…..when Brogdon ALREADY stated he willingly to ANYTHING to help this team even come off the bench lol
1 philly (great build to win most in regular season) 2 bucks (best team in the east but probably gon coast) 3 cavs (solid hungry team) 4 celtics* (ime. robwil injury. but the team's still one of the best build) 5 nets* (non existing team defense and coaching. kd and kyrie probably gon request trade in the deadline) 6 heat (best x's & o's, p's & q's coach and jimmy carrying the team) 7 raptors (competitive young team) 8 hawks (addition of murray...) 9 knicks (addition of brunson...) 10 bulls (lonzo's injury) 11 wizards (bunch of 75-80 rated players) 12 pistons (ivey, cade, bey but they just young) 13 hornets (bridges and harrell) 14 magic (wembanyama sweepstakes) 15 pacers (probably trading turner and hield, and continue rebuilding)
So kd chokes for being swept in the first round but lebrons a legendary playoff performer while being swept twice in the finals. Same goes for steph blowing a 3-1 lead in the finals
@@darrellwilliams9168 getting swept in the finals is worse than getting swept first round. Also lebron got swept in the 07 finals against a 3rd seed spurs
@@benjaminjosemiranda6931 huh?!?! That’s hella cap bruh. Getting swept in the first round is way worse than getting swept in the finals. And the 2007 Spurs is also a great team. @@benjaminjosemiranda6931 both💀 if a player keeps losing in the first round compared to a player getting all the way to the finals and losing the player losing in the finals will have the better legacy
The big question with the nets is nash. They filled some big holes from the boston series, but with their championship aspirations, nash gotta step up and make it mesh
It’s absolutely ridiculous how much they’re underrating the raptors like the Cavs and Hawks clear them easily. Just a case of two brand new toys compared to a team that’s already proved they’re good and didn’t make changes. Cavs backcourt defense is probably the worst in the league and if not the worst it’s top 5. Then you have Trae Young who an offense of himself sure but he’s the worst defender in the league. Raptors lock up both teams and I’m not even a Raptors fan. FVV, GTJ, OG, Scottie, Siakam locks up nearly every team in the league and provides good offense
You're speaking too much facts. Some people think basketball is only played on one side of the ball and make their predictions accordingly. These same people will go ahead and see the Nets flop season after season and still project them to be better than a historically consistent teams like the Raptors who prioritize defense and versatility
Riv finally said it bro, Kevin Durant has been great in golden state but literally everywhere else bro was getting cooked and decimated he got locked up by the Mavs as well!

I'm not saying I disagree with the Garland/Fred point, because Garland clears, but it's interesting how the "1 season" argument Joel had for Dejounte doesnt exit in other arguments
Not that crazy, they were pretty equally matched in the regular season and the raptors got better. Heat clear in the playoffs tho I ain't gonna deny that
Y’all don’t understand Rob’s offense impact I think. There’s so much value in being an good offensive player without needing the ball. That’s what makes Rob so good. All the other centers you compared Rob to need the ball way more to make an impact on the game

For almost a decade casual fans have disrespected the Raptors when it comes to predictions, and for almost a decade the Raptors have not only been top 5 team in the East but also have had the most wins in the East since 2014. When will you learn?
Shoutout drew for knowing ball - respect the continuity: raptors have been training together all off season. The defence is going to suffocate majority of teams. Other guys paying way too much attention to individual stats when trying to compare teams against the raptors
