My introduction to Ghost Rider character was through Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze and no matter what people says, the movie will always be in my top ten list
Same, I only ever see people shit on the movie, but it's in my top five list, and there's nothing more bad ass than the scene with the two ghost riders racing through the plains
If Ghost Rider could be a game it would be like a modernized RDR2 with different variations of ghost rider weapons and I can see like a skill tree you can slowly build up until you’re super OP. That would be cool
The latest GR comics are very well written. Wolverine performed brain surgery on Jonny Blaze and removed a demon slug that latter became a new villain called Exhaust. It's awesome! 🖖🖖
Not going to lie my favorite thing about Ghost Rider is his death stare Johnny blaze Ghost Rider so badass that even the succubuses of hell like him especially Morgan from darkstalkers she seems quite fond of Johnnyblaze
I noticed as well. Comic is so much better. Robbie Reyes became a Ghost Rider through his murderous Uncle. He is not embodied by a spirit of vengeance. Robbie was fighting his Uncle's spirit as the Uncle wanted to murder everyone they came across where as Robbie did not
@@ratedr8490 unfortunately I do not own all 94 issues or all of the spirit of vengeance spin offs but I do own little over half including all of the road to vengeance issues as well as all of the blood-stained issues and subsequent tie-ins with the rest of the midnight sons I also have all four black envelopes the rise of the midnight sons issues as well as issue 94
There's also Caleb, the Ghost Rider from Trail of Tears. He's probably one of the more brutal Ghost Riders, but given his backstory you can kinda understand why. All in all he's worth looking up I'd say. Edit: I apparently missed the entire segment, as a result of my roommates being loud (I listen more than watch).
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong yeah, enough to say that if you were to make an exception for anything at all that came out during or after that run, it should be Trail of Tears. It's pretty fucked up what happens to Caleb in the beginning, and he really earns that spirit of vengeance moniker. "Does this look like the face of the Spirit of Mercy to you?" is pretty much the most fitting line I've ever seen or heard a Spirit of Vengeance say.
Thanks for making this video, especially the part regarding Phantom/Knight rider. Although as a kid I already knew of Ghost Rider, as a kid I came across a bargain bin of old comics that had some of those comics in there, and I always wondered if Ghost/Phantom Rider was the original, or a knock off. Plus the internet wasn't around then.
Finally somebody did a video like this it would have been better if you used the comic book origin of Robbie Reyes instead of the agents of shield origin but it is what it is
@@justinrogers1807 he made his first appearance in all new Ghost Rider issue 1 if you're interested in reading it they combined all of the issues into a book called the complete story of Robbie Reyes I got mine at one of the local comic book shops for $30 I think you can also find them at Books-A-Million and Barnes & Noble as well
Been a big GR Fan since Danny's first Issue as the GR, have two Copies. Even lucky enough to have my Brother buy me the Sideshow Statue of Noble on the Throne, with the Crown. My Alias is from when I misread Nobles name and decided to make it my own. Thanks for this well done list. Keep up the great work.
He’s just reading a script dude.. lmao people are easily and stupidly impressed by the most simple shit it’s ridiculous. Plus it sounds like an AI voice anyway
I was asking in my previous reply because Ghost Riders should differ from each other; not just by personality; but also the weapons or resources they had in their own lifetime just as they were being portrayed in the comics; Carter Slade: Rope and Shotgun/pistols; Johnny Blaze: Chain coil/Flechette projectiles; Roberto "Robbie" Reyes: Chain whip and Chain Metal Throwing Projectiles. I could only guess from the original Ghost Rider Movie and the type of weapon attacks being used in "Ultimate Alliance" video game. Forgive me if I might be wrong about the Robbie character's weapons as the ghost rider but I have never seen the comics and his "Spirit of Vengeance" form did not have much appearance time in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D tv series.
Ghost rider is the shit and so are all these variants Robbie Reyes ghost rider is my favorite ghost rider and I also like cosmic ghost rider too. Ghost rider 2099 is pretty awesome as well.
at least Ghost Rider's most prominent power's name right. it is NOT Penance Glare, it IS Penance Stare. Robbie reyes isnt the only GR to use hellfire imbued chains. Ketch and Blaze both have used hellfire chains. as for the most badass variant of GR- Danny Ketch after he was manipulated by Zadkiel. Ketch taking the powers of every GR for Zadkiel
I have the issue with Ghost Rider, Wolverine and Punisher joining together to fight a cult(?). I believe it was called "Hearts of Darkness " (1991). Being a huge Ghost Rider and Wolverine fan I later had a "questionable quality" tattoo of the logo put on my upper arm/ shoulder. I remember my Uncle having an early issue of the Carter Slade version of the Ghost Rider.
Great video explaining all the different ghost riders. I am a huge ghost rider fan for a very long time and a collector of the comic books. I can’t wait to see what they do with ghost rider in the MCU movies going forward. 😎
AS A Conan Fan who was Not only Raised on Marvel Comics and later gifted THE ENTIRE CONAN MARVEL LIBRARY...EVERY ISSUE..INCLUDING A SIGNED #1, From MY AWESOME MOTHER (MY FIRST MOVIE EXPERIENCE WAS AT A DRIVE IN 1984 WHEN I WAS 6 YRS OLD...THE 2 MOVIES THAT NIGHT? CONAN THE BARBARIAN AND STAR TREK III : THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK!) , THE HYBORIAN GHOST RIDER WAS HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE!. AND I HAVE A TON OF THE OG GHOST RIDER COMICS WITH GOOD OL JOHNNY BLAZE AND ROXY! SO I LEAN TOWARDS BLAZE AS MY FAVORITE "LONG TERM" RIDER. BUT THE HYBORIAN VERSION WAS JUST SAVAGE AS F!!
Hello Richard my middle name is Richard! RIDE JOHNNY BLAZE RIDE!! Best Ghosterider....but I love Zanathos even more. And even more so I love every one of you.
Honestly the only Rider that's really different is the Cosmic Ghost Rider and that's just because besides having Hellfire he also has Power Cosmic from Galactus
I hope Gabriel Luna returns as Robbie Rheyes in the main MCU, he was a gr8 Rider in Agents of Shield. Love Cosmic Ghost Rider as well. Be dope to see Thomas Jane variant from the 2000's Punisher I MCU as CGR. Maybe in Secret Wars with all this Multiverse stuff.
I didn’t much care for agents of shield’s depiction of him or at least the back story his comic backstory was great and would have been awesome to watch play out on screen
I’m chronically dyslexic so as a kid I had comics based on the art so I LOVED Spawn, Venom m and Ghost Rider but never realised “my” Ghost rider was Daniel Ketch 😮
You can say whatever, you can even say that Robbie Reyes has some abilities no other rider has, but Johnny Blaze is and always will be the most powerful Ghost Rider that has ever lived, even after his death he becomes the King Of Hell with the collective powers of all Ghost Riders that came before him, and even after him, making his power unmatched by any other Ghost Rider, neither The Cosmic Ghost Rider or Robbie Reyes holds a candle to Johnny Blaze
It is not called a "Punishing Glare" (even though that it is basically sort of what it is) It is really called the "Penance Stare" and has a much better ring anyway.
Honorable mentions should go to Max Perish from the mini series Before the Four: the Storms and Phantome a Vengeance enemy from Marvel Comics Presents(I don`t remember issue numbers). Max Perish an archaeologist found the Amulet Zarathos gave his human worshipers to summon him for battles. Phantome using a scientific device, temporarily stole Vengeance`s powers.
I can't get the image of a priest out of my head. He's peaceful and kind, leading a faithful congregation. One day, during mass, the place is attacked and the members of the church are all gunned down, including the priest. However, after the gang that attacked leaves, the priest slowly stands up, apparently unharmed. There's a profound sadness on his face, then he slowly leaves the church. He tracks down the gang and confronts them at their hideout. They laugh at him and point their guns at him but he just says in a soft, sad tone, "Your sins can never be forgiven." Then he closes his eyes and tilts his head back, tears run down his face before his black robes turn white, embroidered with gold while white flames burn in his eyes. A bright light fills the room and each of the gang members drop their guns and fall to their knees. He simply walks over to each of them and places a hand on their heads, at which point they cry and dissolve soundlessly into ash, realizing finally. When he reaches the gang leader, as the hand reaches towards his head, the gang leader experiences all of the lives that he'd taken, every single one, from the moment of birth to the moment of their untimely death, as if it was his own life. He then cries and slowly turns to ash while regret and guilt are all he feels in his own last few seconds. It all ends when the priest slowly turns back, shakes his head sadly and leaves.
My friend and I are huge Ghost Rider fans, we debate all the time who would make a better Ghost Rider, Keanu Reeves or Norman Reedus, it wouldn’t be of Johnny Blaze or Robbie Reyes, they would play Danny Ketch in the MCU then they can have a No way home like event where they are all together
Stop casting Keanu Reeves and Norman Reedus for Ghost Rider, they both are 50+ and Ghost rider is a character which requires multiple years that's why they are not suitable.
11:15 my mind started wondering and I started thinking about an AI spirit thats algorithm sequencing coincidentally aligns with multiversal hellfire chaos magic that would posses it's rider to create technology that could access more hellfire from different realities like hell.
Before Ghost Rider 1; that altered story of Carter Slade was part of "Ultimate Alliance" Video Game but his skin from the comics are still the same. The thing that bothers me is that because the Ghost Rider is supposed to be different hosts of people, why do they still use Johnny Blazes' character movements for the Phantom Rider skin instead of the actual character who is the Phantom Rider himself and why Doesn't Phantom Rider skin come with its own set of weapons?
@redenvy same here I’ll always have a soft spot for the nic cage version they weren’t very good movies but I’m always down to watch nic cage just ham it up and it was what got me into ghost rider in the first place
As a person who has only seen MCU -movies: this all flew over my head, super confused 😅 like, knowing some names here and there, but these alternative universe -versions of familiar characters,.... So confusing.
These videos are so confusing if you don't already know the stories. It jumps from storyline to storyline, and character to character without any segue to tie the changes together. Then it'll name a new character as almost an afterthought so you might not even notice it, then start talking about the character later on, so it seems like the come out of nowhere.
If Slade's grave was a phony then how do you explain the fact that he is an apparition when Johnny meets him? We see Carter Slade disappear before Johnny Blaze's Showdown with Blackheart the way a ghost usually disappears. This is evidenced that even a Ghost Rider can't live forever.
Would have rather had the Ghost Rider Jonah Hex amalgamation than the Chamber Hex amalgamation we got in the Amalgam universe. I think the Slade Hex generation Hex character would have been more interesting.
