In this part we're going to install the brake cable clutch cable the seals on the ends of the axles around the bushings and wire ignition switch and solenoid for the starter. The seal I ordered for the small size of axle came from Applied Industrial, their phone number is 1 800 321 0202 their website is www.applied.com you can get seals bearings bushings spacers and shims. If you need any help or further instructions send me an email and I'll be more than happy to get back with you if , you can email me at Jimsfixitshop@gmail.com don't forget to subscribe and give me a thumbs up, more videos to come you're going to want to catch. So until then work safe have fun and will talk to you soon.
Please ask questions in the comments. I am transitioning away from email. This way, people can get help from others' questions. Thanks!

Thanks for showing this video. My Snapper was leaking oil from it's differential. The clamp was loose, I tightened it up, wiped around it good and will check it again later. I first thought it was leaking oil from the engine. This 'free' Snapper is full of surprises and a challenging project and enjoy every minute I spend on it. The rubber seal has no visible signs of wear and tear and think the tightened clamp will do the trick. Again, thanks.

Good Day Jim, I like the way your work space is set up. Everything is layed out neatly. Neat and tidy is very nice and organized.

R Shin Yes that was when I first got started doing videos on utube then a viewer told me to lay the table down on it’s side for a full screen, and I still get suggestions and helpful hints from my viewers. Jim

Jim, great series of videos. Could you please provide the Applied Industrial part number for the LH lip seal you used and how much you paid? Also, my series 13 doesn't have a bushing on LH but uses a bearing with no grease fitting. How does this bearing get lubricated and is there a better part to use? Thx

i have the same drivetrain...these are considered the "extra tough" models...no better part available...these are greased at manufacturing and are meant to last for the life of the bearing...

Hey Mr. Jackson. I was given a Snapper series 23. My son and I dragged it onto the trailer and into my house garage. The shift is stuck in neutral, not sure which gear it is in, causing us having to drag it where we want it to go. It's been outdoors for perhaps a couple of years and I am determined to get it cutting again. With mower on it's hind end, I turn a wheel and the other turns in opposite direction. When I turn the driven wheel by hand, the two wheels turn in same direction. I don't know if this ells me that the chain case needs work or something else. So far I'v removed the rear wheel nearest the chain case. I've removed all bolts on side wheel panel. In process of dismantling more components since I need to replace the boots that damaged. I figured I'd find something amiss while doing so. You have any Ideas, please let me know. Thank you.

Clarence All sounds good so far , With the machine standing up, there is a steel tube with the shift arm shaft go's through with a grease fitting on it, try pumping grease into it and have someone hold the clutch in and try to shift it back and forth. if you need more help email me direct at jimsfixshop@gmail.com with a phone no. and some pictures, I will get back to you. thanks Jim

My Snapper does not have a grease fitting on shift tube arm. Should I take the shift apart and apply grease? Or should I drill hole and tap threads for the grease fitting?

+Clarence Thibodeaux Yes I would take it apart remove the shifting handle to do so your going to have to compress that large spring to pull out the clevis pin I have video showing how, then remove the long shift link and remove the shift handle shaft, I would wire brush the shafts and the hole to if you have a small round brush, You can drill tap with a 1/4-28 and put a grease fitting in if you can that would be the best thing. If you need some help email me direct at jimsfixitshop@gmail.com pictures and a phone no. would help

Thank you for your quick response. I removed the shift handle, greased the moving part where it joins the spring shaft. I'm not computer literate to know how to send photo, perhaps my son can teach me. Will appreciate any input from you or anyone of your other faithful viewers. Thank you again.
