Hello Jim. Thanks for your informative how to videos! I have a snapper rear engine rider that I purchased new in 2005 i believe it was. It has served me well but it’s getting to the point now where i need to do some of the more extensive maintenance and PM on the drivetrain. I know i need to order new axle boots because mine are cracked and torn and so it is allowing dirt to contaminate the axle. What is the proper part number for new quality rubber boots? (I have the 28” hi vac deck if it matters). Also do you just use a quality bearing grease like red bearing grease to lubricate that axle after cleaning it up before installing new boots? Also, i want to service my chain and differential cases with the 80w90 gear oil like you mentioned. I have never been in these ir serviced these before, so i am sure they still have the 00 thick snapper grease inside. My question is- for this first chain and diff case service, should i just add the 80w90 into both cases and run it and let it soften and help liquify the old snapper grease, and then let it down and try and get it to drain out, and then refill with fresh 80w90 in both cases? Or is it a better approach to try and fill both cases with some type of solvent or degreaser that will break down and liquify the old grease, then drain and fill with the fresh gear oil? And just one more thing- ive noticed as of late i seem to be getting a little more vibration whenever i have cutting blade engaged than i remember before in the past. Anything in particular i should ck to make sure something isnt warped or in need of replacement. If it helps it seemed to be like this even after installing a new blade. Thanks for all your help!

If you go to parktree.com online with your model number, you can find all the parts you need to fix the machine, any type of grease will work fine for greasing the hexagon shaft so it shifts better. Jim

I was thinking of the same thing. It sounds as if there only thing to do is take both cases apart and clean the insides.

I got a deal on a 30 inch 2002 Snapper. The muffler does not have any rust. It was kept in a garage and had little use. I expect it to last the rest of my life.

my lip seal has leaked since the first day that I bought it from the dealer. Brand new and leaked, I was pretty upset so I researched it. Every one that had a snapper said don,t use the snapper grease use lubi plate 105 grease. So I did and put a little lucas in the gear box with the grease. That's what I have used in the gear box since 2008 when I bought it brand new and it's working great.

I’ve got 1973 Snapper Comet 2660. Still running strong after 50 years. My father bought it new. I just did the yearly service on it.

Do you know a replacement for snapper battery 7060753? Snapper no longer has it.

I get them at our Battery store, not Menards, Lowe’s or Home Depot I get them from U S A Battery that’s all they sell. Make them get you any kind of battery you want. Jim.

Do you add 80-90 oil with mower on rear end or flat?
@jimjackson9381

I have a video talking about different ways to lift up your machine to work on it, but I can’t find it, one thing I have that works nice is a MoJack I think I bought it at Menards. You push the front tires or the back tires up on it and it has a crank on the top and it lifts machine up pretty easily, or I also have a rope hoist I bought from tractor supply and it lifts quite a bit of weight pretty easy, I use one of those two things when I need to lift up one that just too heavy for my back I continue to look for this goofy video I have I believe it’s titled How to lift your machine to work on it. I hope this helps. Sorry it took so long. I’ve been looking for that video. Jim OK

I finally found that video the one you want to watch is number 258 and it talks about three different things that I have that I use for lifting up machines. I hope it helps. Jim.

@@jimjackson9381brilliant! I found a Mo-JackXT online for $79 free ship (I can’t believe this but we’ll see - prolly from China). If that doesn’t work out I have a hoist but no-where to hang it so I’ll look again for a MoJack type. Thanks so much for taking the time. Scrolling through you vids I can see I’ve found a keeper of a resource for Snappers. I inherited my first Snapper with the house purchase back in 2003. Bought a cheapo Lowes John Deer 0 turn 5 years ago which was actually good but have moved to East FL and a smaller yard. Was lucky enough to find a new what looked like the last original Snapper 2 years ago and snapped it up - happy! Time to give it some more love. Again, thanks Jim.

@@jimjackson9381 are they still making this Snapper? All the other ones I saw seemed a bit plasticky. I read a Ga plant had closed.
