To help that new AR-15 user identify what different ammo exists for the calibers and what their purposes are. Most common ammo is of course 55 and 62 grain, but those are not the only ones available.
It always makes sense to ensure your rifle barrel twist rate supports the bullet, but most common AR15 are 1/7 and 1/8 which support the wide range of types.
Also, if you have barrel chambered in .223 - use caution or avoid shooting 5.56x45 (5.56 NATO) rounds as they have higher pressure.
I personally shoot a lot of 75gr - as preferred choice for my SBR and AR15 pistols.
