Hi Jake! I have been interested in training iron palm kung fu for a few months now. In my training i use a small bag filled with mung beans, hitting it for six minutes a day, non stop. am i doing right? afterwords i do a few finger stretching exercises. Any sort of clawing or whipping to the face will make an opponent flinch, especially to protect the eyes. You are going to at least blink if your physiology works correctly. But an open hand slap isn't necessarily what one might call a "bitch slap", a solid smash with an open hand to the side of the head is going to hurt a bit more. And lets say you miss and only connect with the tips of your fingers, if you clip someone in the open eye your going to really mess that opponent up and probably win. Eye pokes are deadly.
I've only sparred Tiger style once, and while I blocked nearly every hit, they still get you on the skin, I had scratches all down my arms. lol Brutal art.
I do Wing Chun, and I have used against MMA and TMA and I have used it extremely well. I've never been beaten in a free form match. I have however lost wrestling matches. I incorporate some MMA takedowns and BJJ ground game moves. Since Wing Chun for me standup im unstoppable but I noticed a lack in ground skills but after incorporating ground fighting Im confident that I can defend myself against anyone on the street.
ah ok. i do ving tsun since 5 years with a lot sparring with muay thai fighters and i did beat them all .go learn in a real kung fu school with sparring offer.
That's called "The Double Swipe" if I remember well in Tiger Kung Fu. Sifu didn't do the "Tiger Grip" because its the most deadly one. The Tiger Grip is when you dig in your finger nails(like a claw) in your opponent's neck area(Adam's Apple) grip hard and tear it out killing him instantly. And just in case there's two opponent's you can do a "Double Tiger Grip"!
JESUS RODRIGUEZ. Bil Gee from Wing chun has ended all the would be street brawls i have gotten into since learning it. Just learn a couple moves like that and work on being faster than everyone and you win.

Aidan Shaffer hes teaching people kung fu ways to defend themselves in tight situations if they go out to use it to pick a fight its not his fault he runs a training center for this meaning he must have a liscence in order to do so and he isnt saying here guys go out and attack anyone you see hes clearly stating its for defense if you must, its like me teaching you how to use a gun and you killing someone i cant get blamed for it you seeked me out to learn i didnt go tell you to kill anyone i wasnt in control of you, you were in control of you it was your fault i didnt pull that trigger then did i? see my point now?
