27-08 Impressionism in London 

I begin in 1870, the year that Prussia invaded France. As a result many French artists left the country and we have a body of work they produced in London and we can see how their work reflects the British weather, culture, traditions, and social life. I focus on the Impressionists Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley and James Tissot, and the Fauvist André Derain.
