Back lapping is not overly complicated. Setting the reel to the bed knife afterwards is a bit more tricky. As you tighten down the bolts the reel will get closer to the bed knife. Once you get it it becomes easy.
This lawn mower is based off the King o lawn reel mower, it was made cheap just like this one. Trimmer is built solid with a fool proof clutch system it's proven time after time and many years of trouble free mowing.
Awesome video....I've been wanting to mount my GoPro to mine for a video....but yours in far more informative than I could do...great job. Who did you purchase your front roller from? By the way your neighbor should feel ashamed having that lawn up against yours
Awesome video. The shifter rods on my tru cut are loose. They engage the clutch for the reel and wheels, but the rod becomes disengaged and I find myself holding it down more often. How do I fix the shifter levers so they lock when engaged? I can’t find anything on that
I would love to own this mower. The only reasons I see not to buy it is price, and maintenance of machine. There seems like a lot of moving parts, bearings, clutches, and if you don't know how to work on it, you may have difficulty finding someone in area that can and it probably won't be cheap.
I have watched a lot of videos about these reel mowers, but i have only seen them used on Bermuda grass. Are they only for that type of grass or can they be used for other types of grass and still have that carpet look cut?
It works best on all bent grass. Fescue requires a different setup but it is cut much higher so the carpet look is not the same. Google the different bent grasses.
I have true cut mower that looks just like this one except mind doesn't have the dual tires. It's for sale if anyone is looking. Mower is in Geneva county Alabama needs a little loving
Great video, filming is great! Thanks for all the detail explanation of the reel mower, you should be a salesperson for Tru-Cut! Your yard is flawless. What part of the country are you in?
how hard is it to change the clutch out? there's one for sale locally for pretty cheap but he said on the drive wheels work and the reel doesn't spin. said that the clutch is worn
The reel clutch can be adjusted provided there is still material left on it. To answer your question, it is not very easy to do unless you are pretty handy.
Larry Schulke I'm very handy, pretty much do everything my self but have never owned a reel mower. if the parts aren't too expensive I may buy it and replace them myself
