Love The Book of Five Rings. Years ago I was working over the road doing sign installs in New England. While working a job in the middle of nowhere Maine the only other business nearby was a market/deli/liquor/thrift/bookstore so for lunch I grabbed a sandwich and decided to look for a book to read while on the road and I found a little pocket sized version of The Book of Five Rings. Not knowing what it was I decided to buy it since I was always interested in Feudal era Japan. I've read it multiple times and even read more about Miyamoto Musashi. Definitely an important read for 2A guys like us.

Neoplatonism and bushido are always fine picks for books. If SHTF, I hope my tiny library of esoteric philosophy remains safe for future generations to enjoy. For the first time in my life this year, I bought gun books. Ryan Cleckner's Long Range Shooting Handbook has been informative so far, mentioning a few things I don't hear mentioned in videos. But the other book which I found to be a waste of money was Ben Stoeger's Practical Pistol Reloaded. I never got big into fiction novels but my favorite author so far has been Neal Stephenson, starting with Snow Crash.
The Sprawl series or Trilogy by William Gibson are great books to read and very substantive as well. I think the first book Neuromancer was written in 1984 and the others every two years, so they are old but still very relevant.
6:00 There is a very good movie designed to appeal to vets called The Outpost which was supposed to be a fully historically accurate recreation of the Battle of Kamdesh, to the point where a few of the soldiers in the movie were played by the people who fought in the battle of kamdesh, and the main character, Clint Romesha, was consulted about how he should be played in the movie.

My old security firm had me fill in for a guy working loss prevention at the Hermes store in downtown San Francisco. The employees there were snooty as hell. Although I imagine the commission they made on sales put them in the six figure category. Although I never saw more than 3 people buy anything the 3 weeks I was there.
I know this is random but you podcast has to be the I listen too. Y’all motivated me to get me off my ass and work out, be a better husband, and start preparing incase some shit happens in our great country. Plus y’all are funny as fuck!
