It's actually a classic feature that decade old apps like Deluxe paint had. It's more like the absense of code that creates an interesting side effect. You need a slightly more advanced undo for it though which Callipeg has where it's not restricted to one frame.

Callipeg still needs “collapsible layer folders” in the timeline for better organization. Also an auto jump-to/reset to the (first frame) start position to help with the workflow. Thanks so much for a great piece of software on any platform. -James

I GOT SO EXCITED WATCHING THIS! Really! I was literally smiling while watching the whole tutorial! I discovered this app yesterday and I simply can't believe how many tools it offers! I really hope it runs smoothly on my iPad 8! I'm truly happy! Its an amazing app!

Reminds me of Adobe Flash/AE, great work, really. One thing, on a side note; I think you should’ve shown the demo portion of the vid first, then the ‘drier’ portion describing each parameter nearer the end. You showing it working is much, much(!) more impressive. Not meant as a criticism, just a helpful critique! Keep it up!

Bro, im definitely going to use this amazing app. I have waited app like this since I bought my ipad pro. Before I use procreate and finish it in after effect (laptop), now I can do it all in just ipad.

Thank you! And with Callipeg 1.8 you can now export your shot as a JSON archive and import it to AfterEffects, TVPaint Animation or ToonBoom Harmony. You can also export an OCA archive and import it to Blender. You can learn all of this in our latest videos.

This is amazing. Transformation layers are a life saver. I particularly find being able to draw on the canvas whilst playing animation just amazing. Saves one so much time. What is this technique called?

my stylus not working in callipeg, i even tried canvas option to uncheck "draw with fingers" I can selects all options, and do everything in callipeg but cannot draw, please help. PS: its working everywhere in procreate and flipaclip

What canvas size would you recommend. I used a 3000 by 3000 by I'm afraid that it's taking too much space.

It depends on your needs, I regularly work on 1920x1080 but Callipeg can create shots up to 4096x4096 pixels. But of course the larger the shot, the less sheets you will be able to add in it before reaching your iPad RAM memory limit. A shot in an animation production is almost always 1 to 10 seconds long.

Hello, I am Benjamin, co-creator of Callipeg. Thank you for your feedback. Basically you can do parallax with the workflow presented in this video. You draw you different elements on different layer, then add each one in a transformation layer and create different transformation at different speed to create the parallax effect.

Hello, Callipeg works on any iPad using iPadOS 13, 14 or 15 and the official Apple Pencil. The performances will depend on your RAM, I think the iPad Air 4 has 4Gb of RAM. Which is enough to work, but you will have to work on short shots (1 to 10 seconds long, maybe 15 depending on the number of layers) or even shorter if your shots are larger than 1920x1080 pixels. But any animation production has this same shot average length.

The app is great but it takes up so much storage. A brief one second animation was about 1.7 GB of storage, although it was 24 FPS and 4K x 4K in size.

Hello, in regard of the peg file size: when you are using a shot which is opened in Callipeg (or just in your Studio) it is uncompressed to get the full performances. When you don’t need to work on a shot anymore, export your .peg to store it on a Cloud storage or somewhere on your iPad (outside of the « On my iPad > Callipeg » folder because if you uninstall Callipeg, it will also delete the Callipeg folder of your iPad which contains your shots. All iPad apps are working like this). The .peg file a compressed archive. That’s why it is way lighter. 4K can take a lot of storage because Callipeg has to manage several full size images and play them in real time.

This already somewhat exists. In the selection tool, you'll see the free select, square, and circle select icons. Under the circle select is an icon of a mountain with a dash square around it. If you tap this, it locks the selection and you can only draw inside it on any other layer. Hope that makes sense 😅
