NEW SHIRTS ! www.garage-wald.com/ I finally put the BD diesel exhaust brake on the 5.9 common rail Cummins. Seems to work pretty good. Will be traveling through the mountains with the car hauler next weekend to give it a real test!
@@theycallmedonkey6664 Yep and they sound great, but I just love the sound of a CAT 3406 and KT Cummins better. This is probably because I spent many hours riding with my dad in his Pete and Kenworths through the years. From a V8 diesel standpoint, I have to say that the 8V92 is my favorite in that category followed by the 3408.
aint that hard. especaly with a turbo you just have to wait a bit until it goes up in revs. needs usualy a heavy dip for a sec to get the revs up unlike on a NA petrol driven engine. learned how to rev match on my old bmw 320d touring
Nice running truck, was looking for an 12v or 24v about 8 years ago with a standard, but couldn't find one at a realistic price then found my 06 duramax with a standard. Manual transmissions are so much more fun to drive.
I had a 4" to 7" stack and it sounded sick but damn was it loud in the cab after I went to a taller tire and it loaded up the engine a little more. So ended up just doing 4 all the way and it's a night and day difference inside the truck.
Nice truck 👍 i love the sound of these Cummins engines but the sound of your truck is the best i've ever heard. This sound reminds me of the sound of the older Scania 140 series trucks from the 70's with V8 turbodiesel engines.
@@dearderekking well sure, but if we’re talking about sound of diesels in particular, the 3406 CATS take the cake. The old Cummins do have a nice exhaust note though for sure.
I LOVE this video. I live in a neighborhood where people are always revving their engines all times of the day and night. Since I don't have a truck that sounds like theirs, I go to their house at 2 am and play this at full volume on the sound system when they are asleep rattling their windows. The video is great sound quality and works quite well. BTW I love the sound of this engine. I hope they appreciate it too! I also crank it up in the house too when I want to know what it's like to drive a Cummins. It's an adrenaline rush. I had to buy me a drink holder so my drink doesn't spill though, but that's ok. Long live the Cummins!
@@dearderekking I just hauled my Dad's Mercedes ML back home on a flatbed (rare occurrence), and with the rear center window open, that exhaust was loud and clear. 10/10 better than any music lol. Need to get my exhaust brake fixed up if I want to do much more towing though. Beautiful truck BTW (sorry to make it about me) and I'm glad I found your channel. Not too many new vids on these trucks on the RU-vids. Subscribed.
Reminds me of back in 2001 bought a new 2500 six speed me and my dad straight piped it and put the exhaust brake on it when I had little over 5000 miles on the truck my neighbors hated me and the truck until i got rid of it I just now got me a 1999 3500 now looking for a straight drive transmission and will grab another exhaust brake and it will be the good ole days back over great driving sounds great
Always been a duramax guy. I don’t technically own one but I take care of my papaws to keep it nice while he’s not able to drive. Looks like I’ll inherit it eventually. But if I don’t I’m considering a Cummins. This video moved me closer to getting a cummins
sounds great I got an 05 with 6 speed.. love it!all stock 120 k on it. No mods exc for exhaust and intake. My 97 3500 4wd dually has exh brake but cant seem to get it to acuate. Has dual 4' stacks straight. It barks nice. Love to get mine working towing these heavy trailers with it
seems to be but trying to figure out who manufactured it is tough.. no name or tags anymore. worked exh valve by hand. seems to be free. sprayed it all up.. Power at the throttle switch, how much vacuum should that pump make/@@dearderekking
Sounds real good man. Had a lly zf6 that had tuning for the turbo brake then a Cummins g56 with a factory one. Neither sounded as good as yours. I just bought a lb7 zf6 and am going to get a bd with the same switch, can’t wait!
My uncle had 5.9s on the farm. Beast of a truck. We hated all that power was in a dodge, everything else sucked on the truck. All electrical problems mostly. Trucks pulled cattle trailers like nothin was behind you. I’d idle down the road in 4th gear at 25 miles an hour with a loaded gooseneck trailer Most farmers around us hated dodge and Chrysler products too but you couldn’t beat that hauling power train. Nice setup partner, I miss that old Cummins roar.
Tengo un conocido y en su camion tiene una palanca muy larga y se ve igual que tu con la mano hasta el cielo 😂 Nunca pense verlo en una camioneta Saludos❤❤
What exhaust brake kit did you use? I have a 07 5.9 Cummins and not sure which I want to do. Original turbo and downpipe. The rest was so rusty I cut it off
I have a 96 Cummins. I rented a truck to pull a load 1200 miles that had a factory exhaust brake and I loved it. Do you recommend a particular brand? Are the aftermarket exhaust brakes available worth the money for someone that hauls 15k daily with their 12 valve?
What trans are you running? Have the NV4500 in my 03 but, I could really use an extra gear up in the hills. I'd love to throw an Eaton/Fuller 6 speed in her but, it's a lot of custom work 😢
Man I can't wait till I get older in get me a dang good job in a truck like that I'm .a teenager tho so yeah but how you working that bad boi you can be my guider shiii❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's Good. Is it hard to Drive it with all that moving with the stick my bro have one but he ain't gone lemme drive it thinks I'm gonna fucc some up.
