Concerning the SFGs, if they are having issues getting people to go there, what makes you think that a trade is the way to go? The Giants end up trading for Pete Alonso, they give up prospects, and at the end of the year Alonso is a free agent...you wasted your prospects!

Marlins fans would be furious with that deal. It wouldn't address any of their needs. At least try to make it a good trade for both sides not just a trade that works with baseball trade values. I don't know that Houck would even be in the rotation with them trading Luzardo. Duran who does he replace in the field and lineup? His power which isn't great in the first place will go down at Loandepot park he isn't replacing Jazz in center plus he is already 27 and enters arbitration next year. Here is another trade that is basically the same value that would fill the needs the Marlins actually have at SS and C plus they are close to MLB ready possibly coming up next year. As a Cubs fan, I take that trade immediately. You have to give good to get good. Cubs have 4 OF in their top 15 prospects at AA or AAA. The corner OF spots are claimed for the next 3 years unless one agrees to be traded or they get DFA'd. That means their greatest value to the Cubs is as trade chips. You could maybe swap out Caissie for Mervis and Triantos.
