Let me know what you use for extreme macro! ⤵️ by the way now that I have an R7 & the Laowa 90mm which has exceptional image quality, these pictures look even more impressive impressive considering how much cheaper these setups are especially with an old dslr such as the 80D which is still a decent choice for macro! What do you think?🤔🤓
Great shots Peter - I'm going to have to dig out my Raynox 250 again and if I can capture a fraction of what you can capture I'll be happy - the last three shots of the jumping spider with the raynox and nisi 58mm were especially fantastic.
Another very informative video Peter, your devotion to your craft shows in every video you produce. From what I have seen on RU-vid your channel should have FAR MORE subscribers. I’m sure down the track their stupid algorithm will find you👍😈👍
Peter!!! As always, these are simply mind blowing. Other than the jumping spiders, I would be afraid of all the other spiders. I was waiting for you to say with each one that they can make you sick or even kill you!!! Everything there is deadly..... Absolutely stunning. When I go back to macro, i will have to stack like you do. That is amazing. 🙏🤗💖
Thank you for the video and the great shots. I've seen from other videos that you tend to do these in hand, so without a tripod or anything? When it comes to the focus stacking, I guess you're on manual focus and just turn it slightly to go through the different focal planes. As this is hand held though, doesn't hand shake come into it? Or are the stacking softwares out there good enough to fix this? I ask as I sadly have very shaky hands. I've ordered the Raynox for my Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro, but the hand shaking worries me, I also have a diffuser coming to help with flash and do want to order one of those "pope shield" diffusers eventually. Thank you once again.
Hey Jon. Thanks for watching! For hand-held focus stacking you can actually just turn the the focusing ring to set the specific magnification ratio you wanna shoot at and then try to be as still as possible by locking your elbow in then move in & out and try to shoot as many frames as possible. The layers will be not perfect but the stacking softwares/ algorithms are pretty decent these days and will be able to align them most of the time but it definitely takes practice. I just finished recording a tutorial where I tested the Canon R7’s in body focus bracketing feature for which the use of a tripod is highly recommended, but I tried it while hand-holding camera as well. I also have more focus-stacking tutorials in my extreme macro playlist for example, so feel free to have a look if you want. Thanks again for watching & keep shooting & first and foreemost have fun!😊 cheers
@@peterviragphoto thank you very much for the reply. When I get the raynox in I'll dive right in. I'll watch those tutorials next week when I'm back at work.
