Hey Crm. I inherited a rolex gmt master I believe is at most is a 1986 mfg date. It has a bronze dial with gold numbers and hands on an 83150 bracelet. My father had it serviced years ago 1 time that I am aware of where they confirmed it as legitimate. It was worn daily for many years but very well taken care of.. how would I go about getting it appraised and serviced? Should I get it serviced? I don't want to make any rookie mistakes.

@@kitdaberserker555 Congratulations to your GMT Master! I think best thing to avoid to get it serviced and appraised is to google watchmakers with a very good reputation (even if they are a bit far away). Ring them up and ask questions about the service. Listen to your stomach if they feel the right place for you to go (are they patiently answering etc.). If you want to keep it in good state, avoid taking it swimming (especially in salt water) and keep the crown fully screwed down after setting the time. That’s what most people do wrong if they happen to get water inside. From time to time clean it with a sensitive toothbrush and liquid soap. After rinsing dry it in a towel. That way the dort doesn’t grind the bracelet down to much over the years. Enjoy your beautiful watch:)

Also the rehaut is laser etched on the newer hulks and engraved on the older ones, which is much nicer imo

Just carefully look at pictures of the 3 version, I do this to spot high quality fakes also.

the off center "=" is something a rep would do lol. If even Rolex does it, then you can't blame rep for having the "m" floating.

I am confused mine has a space between the 300 and the m, a left justified equal sign with a fully polished clasp. Mark 1 ? Or Mark 2? I better check my card.

Sorry but this is not correct 100%: The Hulk Mark 2 has a brushed inner clasp/ bracelet. Mark 1 and 3 have a polished inner clasp. I have a Hulk MK2, but the clasp is brushed and other sources tell so !

There’s a space between the “0” and the “m” on all of them… it’s just a smaller spacing on the mark 3 series…

You didn’t mention the ‘ft’ text. Some submariners have a short f some have a long f I do not believe you can determine the years from the txt on the dial - I’ve seen subs from all years with different combinations of long/short f and spacing on the m
