I’m so glad you did a basic ranch house. It’s very similar to mine. I live in South Central Texas. We just had I’ve 70 days of plus 100 degrees. I’m needing to reduce my St Augustine grass, which I love but it is so hot here. I’ll keep watching for landscape ideas what to do in very hot, low rain areas. Thanks.

I think your channel is very helpful. The drawing gives a good idea of what the result will be and you give names of plants that work in the design. I once had a design made for my house but the choice of plants was not given so I have to research and figure out what will work and I am not getting too far this way.

Recently found your channel as my husband and I are in the process of a complete remove and replace of our front yard. Funnily enough, we will be doing something similar to #3, so that is my favorite plan. We’ll not “block” our driveway, and our aesthetic leans differently, but it was nice to see the general vibe in a video. You won my subscribership with this video. hmmmm, i'm confused by this design. at 1:42 i'm seeing a pair of hydrangea standards?, a pair of box trios for winter interest?, a flowering cherry? literally every mistake that could be made, then throw in a red twig dogwood? it's the home depot landscape nightmare garden i've been asked to rip out and replace so often. the eye doesn't want 2 of anything in the landscape unless it's palladian symmetry. odd numbers, threes is much more pleasing. the standards, that's the wrong house profile, the winter interest box had potential except they're low mounds that will get buried in the snow so there goes the interest. why not a trio of tall hinoki false cypress for winter interest, replace the cherry (b/c in 3 years it will be leggy, ugly, and an eyesore) with a white flowering dogwood, replace the tree at the end of that shape with a redbud amd use shrub limelight hydrangea as a border in front of the porch or limelight prime even little lime - any of them will have great winter interest. and all those options are well under 1000. i mean i understand that all the options you shared are easily available at HD or lowes, but it's so basic, boring, looks ok for the first two months then it goes to shit, and honestly, not curb appeal. ride 10 minutes further to a proper nursery, get to know the team, ask questions, seek something a click off the beaten path and create something stunning. and don't overpay? you get what you pay for. that design is buy cheap buy twice, so it's overpaid. i had this in que for a while and thought i deleted it. was stoked when i found it but now disillusioned and irritated
