I live in England, when I was young my parents purchased an old stone built house which was over 100 years old. It was haunted by a dog who would run up and down the stairs, no on ever saw saw the dog but we heard it often and just accepted that it was his home.
In 1996, I was one of the first residents to move into a 150 year old building that was renovated into loft apartments in downtown St. Louis. My bedroom door had a 3" gap underneath that let in a bit of light from the hallway, about the same as having a nightlight on. One night I was laying in bed about to go to sleep when I happened to open my eyes and was shocked to see the ghost of a young girl in a dress standing right beside my bed looking at me. The whole encounter lasted maybe 4-5 seconds, so it wasn't just a glimpse of something or a "I thought I saw something" type thing. She was literally right next to my bed, just to the right of my knees, so I was able to clearly see her face as well as the dress she was wearing. Her expression wasn't at all menacing, but her presence alone scared the hell out of me and I was frozen with fear, staring wide eyed at her until she suddenly faded away and disappeared, which was also kind of strange because it wasn't like a light switch was flipped off and she was instantly gone, instead it was as if I was watching energy molecules lose power, or perhaps a better analogy is static electricity dissipating, as she disappeared. I've always been a skeptic and never really believed in ghosts or spirits, but I know what I saw was real and cannot rationally explain what I experienced other than something paranormal, however irrational that may be to some people. I never told anyone bc I didn't want to sound crazy, but what happened next was almost even more unbelievable to me, and honestly I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around it... A year or two after I moved out of that loft apartment I went to a Halloween party hosted by friends of the girl I was dating. I didn't know many people there, so I was just being a wallflower and listening to the conversations going on around me, when I happen to overhear a girl that I've never met say to her friends, "Hey, did you guys ever hear about the ghost of the little girl who bounces pennies off the floor at..." and names the exact building and floor where I lived when I saw the little girl in my bedroom. I immediately interrupted and asked her to repeat what she just said, just to make sure I heard correctly. Apparently other people have seen her too, and although she wasn't "bouncing pennies" when I saw her, the fact that someone else described seeing the ghost of a little girl on the same floor in the same building was validation that I wasn't crazy (or high, as some have since suggested 😂).
The events as you describe have been described many times before with other ghosts in other places. That's why I'm sure there's something to it. Thanks for sharing it with the piublic.
Poor Jane Pierce. She wasn’t the only First Lady to lose a child when her husband was in office as President. Mary was inconsolable over the loss of her son and Lincoln threatened her - pointing out the window to the rooftop of a nearby insane asylum and telling her that if she didn’t straighten up and stop grieving the way she was he would send her there - to the asylum (likely a psychotic break such as Jane Pierce experienced from shock and grief, which was misunderstood and there was no proper treatment for it, then). No one can ever blame them or think they could control their behavior in the depths of such despairing grief.
Hey, Paranormally Listed, you may also want to do a video on hunted lakes. Starting with Lake Lanier in Georgia USA. If you do research, you will discover that it has a very hunted past and every year there are multiple drownings in that lake.
Almost every lake has at least q drowning in it... some places are just higher activity and possibly more undercurrent or something that plays a role in the drownings..

Yeah lol I think these are just for a bit of fun, I know I’ve embellished ghost stories while telling them. I’m not sure if he gets these from well known sources, books, or maybe he hears them.
In late July of 1993 when I was 13 my Mom took my younger sister and I along with my 2 Aunts and their daughter’s (my 2 cousins) to Washington D.C. to see the sights. While we were listening to the guide during our tour of the White House I noticed an older woman who looked around the same age as my Mom-Mom (who was 67 at the time) she had a very sophisticated and classy look about her. It all happened very quickly as the tour guide was speaking to us I turned and saw this woman (who looked familiar but I just couldn’t place) walking by and she must have noticed me looking at her, and she turned her head and gave me a nice warm little smile and kept walking. About 10 minutes later as we made our way through one of the main hallways the tour guide started talking about the different official portraits that were hanging up,and then the tour guide started talking about former First Lady Pat Nixon who had just passed away about a month or so before I couldn’t see the portrait from where I was standing at the time,but as the tour continued I was able to get a clear view of it,and when I did I couldn’t believe it, the portrait was of the woman who I had seen walking by and who had smiled at me earlier! That was my very first paranormal experience, and I saw the spirit of former First Lady Pat Nixon.
I was born in a haunted house...the land around it, especially the woods and the ruins of a very old family home and its burial grounds deep within the forest was also haunted. But no ghost ever hurt me or scared me...not even those very clearly visible. On the contrary, I felt very safe. No one but us(and one set of grandparents) would set foot on the place after sundown...which was absolute nonsense, since ghosts often made themselves known in broad daylight. A relative who told my mom "that brat needs a good spanking!" (She meant me. I was upset because she put my house cat out of our house.) experienced this right around noon: one of the glass panel doors of the china cabinet opened, a glass from the back row of 3 lifted up from its place without knocking into the ones in front of it, sailed right at her, course corrected when she moved, then hit the wall next to her head...but only hard enough to crack the glass. She said she heard and felt breathing close to face at that moment. .She never returned to our place, never again urged my mom to spank me or name called. Except in church, where she couldn't, the woman stayed well away from me.
Wow. Don't often hear about avenging ghosts. I've lived in a building in NYC that was built during the revolutionary war, another that was built around 1910, a house in PA that was started as a building around 1850 and a house in GA where a previous owner had a heart attack while using a chainsaw. But I NEVER SAW ANY GHOSTS! Come on guys!
@@silverstuff182 I think it depends on many factors...as the researchers at places like Duke University would also tell you. People from some cultures are more sensitive to paranormal phenomena than those from other cultures just like some of us are more intuitive than others. But a great deal of the science that we accept as fact now was once considered absolute nonsense, and I believe there will someday be actual, verifiable, clear proof of ghosts someday.

I was waiting for that one too. But I think maybe he was trying to tell about ghosts that aren't as well known. I mean, everybody knows President Lincoln is supposed to haunt the white house, but we didn't know about these other ones. Just a guess. It makes it more interesting to learn new things.

Wow that’s pretty wild, I’ve lived in America my whole life & I’ve never heard about any of this. I never heard any presidents or White House officials talk about it not even in jest, Well they say you learn something new everyday so maybe.
i’d imagine that someone’s sanity would be questioned if they started saying they saw/heard ghosts so people would probably keep that to themselves or they’d be too afraid to talk about it publicly

Excellent but there is a tremendous amount of detail you left out. Not only on those three and I am not mentioning the years after the train wreck. There were servants and of course two secretaries of that time period. A book could be written on all the different hauntings. In fact I believe there is a number of books.
Washington monument construction began 1848 So the man that reluctantly sold his property, saying he died in his home across from the monument is incorrect as it did not exist when the man died in 1799....get your facts together.
