The Theatre can be a scary place. Ghosts from theatres past wanting to stay in the production, never taking their final bow.

One thing people don't understand is that people don't haunt just places where they died. People go back to places they love and that brought them happiness when they were alive. Some places are haunted where no one died. Someone who loved that place, or was happy there, died and went back there. That's why cemeteries aren't more haunted. The people are buried there, but they didn't love it or found happiness there.

I agree. Ghosts don't always have to be sinister and somewhere can be haunted even if nothing awful happened there.

I was bar manager at a local community theatre. It was built in 1931 and was built as a movie theatre. For awhile it was a tapestry store and then became the community theatre. It's a smaller venue but still has the old marquis and ticket booth. The third floor has the slots where the projectors went. It's gorgeous inside and has been kept pretty similar to its original look. It's used for live shows and some music. I was told a few ghost stories but never seen anything. However, you could be sitting in the lobby early in the day and just suddenly become exhausted. It would pass as fast as it came. I avoided the basement at all cost. Many nights I would be there alone after 3 am cleaning up, restocking the bar, deposit...etc and just get creeped out for no reason. I hated going into the auditorium section to check back doors and turn on ghost light. Some days were even creepy at times. I miss the theatre but wish I had seen anything creepy. A few events our power would go out for no reason. Breaker box would be checked and reset but nothing worked. Then when we were trying to figure out how to proceed the power would just come back on.

Bravo!!! Take a bow!!!! Great performance!!! Thanks for presenting stories not usually presented when most channels parade the same theater stories over and over. Thanks PL

A friend of mine has had paranormal experiences. I've known him 45 years and he consoled in me a few months ago not to tell anyone. He has moved to several locations and states in the past 30 plus years. The ghost follows him. On one instance, he heard water running outside his house and went to look. It was his spigot running full blast, but no water was on the ground. He hears knocks on his walls, also. I felt so sorry for him 😔

In Shreveport, Louisiana we have the municipal auditorium where the Louisiana Hayride was broadcast from in the 1950's and where Elvis got his start and Elvis's ghost haunts the place and a few years back I was at a speaking engagement for Colonel Oliver North and while after talking with Col. North my son and I went looking around the place and we literally saw a shadow figure sitting in a chair in the stands get up and the seat raised like when a person gets up and the figure disappeared, 10 other people saw it happen.

Thomas Hallam haunts the underground passage between the theater and the pub across the way. "While Hallam was ambitious to play leading roles, he was generally consigned to supporting parts. On 10 May 1735 during a performance of the farce Trick for Trick he got into a dispute with fellow actor Charles Macklin over a wig they used during the play. During the trial, Macklin narrated that, having been provoked, he pointed his cane towards Hallam but his face "turned about unluckily" so that the stick pierced his eye and brain. The wound proved fatal and Macklin was tried for murder, but after conducting his own defence had this reduced to a conviction of manslaughter. Accounts cited that Macklin was later freed, went back to the theater but suffered an unfavorable reputation among the public." He is also sometimes seen in the theater. I wonder if the ghosts see each other?

I had an experience like that. I lived in something called a shotgun house. A lot of weird things happened. My dog even noticed. I did some research and found out that there used to be another house there and the abusive husband drugged his wife's tea and carried her to the top floor and hanged her.

BTW the actor Joseph Grimaldi died in 1837 not 1937. Sorry to be that person, but I was curious. Plus we were not shown photographs, just drawings so figured it was an accidental slip of the tongue 🤷‍♀

I believe these. There is a university theatre where I used to live that is officially haunted; very cold breezes out of nowhere on stage. The ghost was identified as the former music director.. It's very unsettling but he's there because he created that venue. I wonder how these persist. Is it strong will power?

Yeah the building that was once the Iroquois theater should be extremely haunted considering 602 people died there during the worst single building fire in US history. Does disaster took place in Chicago and twice as many people died in this one single building than in all of Chicago during the Great Fire of 1871.

It’s surprising how many people around the early 1900’s either had or died from syphilis …there’s also a bunch of different terms used for both the disease and complications of it.😳
