The Acropolis is the most famous tourist attraction of Athens, Greece. We share the most common mistakes tourists make which can totally ruin their vacation. Plus, bonus tip at the very end.
The mistake Tourists did, is sometimes seeing Greeks with no water or hat or sunglasses and they think it's OK. I remember one certain moment like this years ago with 20 year old guy, Norwegian, that starting feeling not good enough because of the heat. Guys you aren't not Greeks or South Europeans. We are use to leave with these weather conditions. Water is necessary. Even an hour without water, for you it's dangerous. If you get there at or around 8 am, you 'll probably catch a military outfit that is responsible for hoisting the Greek flag in the Acropolis. If it's on a Sunday, this outfit will be the presidential guard.

Are you allowed to carry a mid size backpack into the Acropolis? Because I‘ve read on their website that backpacks are not allowed but also I see people with backpacks in your video.
The other entrance is on the SE slope of the Akropolis. Just make sure, if you order your ticket online that you order it from the right site. I was there today and saw as a family of 6 got denied because they have bought the tickets thru a 3rd party website and the tickets have allready been used last week. So the company sold the tickets (QR code) twice.
I love Rick Steves. I watch his shows and order his guidebooks whenever we tour a European country. He's helped me to plan England, France, and Italy on our own.
