You can disable the single button press for recordings and make it a double button press in the settings menu. Go to settings then GO 3 Button Settings and select None for single button press.

I included in screen recordings and on screen text that Insta360 introduced this option in an update between my time recording the video and publishing it - but some people totally might miss that. Thanks for the comment walking people through how to do that.

I have this and also the x3. Quality on the x3 is better but the end video from a reframed 360 shoot its 1080 or 4k if you film on a single lens. I like the fact that I can stick the go 3 anywhere for some cool shots also using it for pov photo walks, its small and v discreet , for social media is good if you have enough light, if I want something more professional than I use my sony camera.

I had the go2 over a year ago for about a week before I returned it because it wasn't for me, but I think I can get more use out of this since you can get it with more storage and in black!

welp I just bought it and planning to use it mainly for taking a photo XD Well I can take a photo with my phone and go 3 for a place where I can just stick it to any metal

yikes! sorry to hear that. you’ll still enjoy it for getting some cool shots mounted to any metal or flat surface with the sticky mount but yeah, your smart phone will most likely take better pictures

Definitely would recommend the Action 4. Even if you set the image resolution lower on the Action 4 to save space (2.7K instead of 4K) it should still get better quality.

there's one pros for having a very low wireless range between the camera and the case, is that if you ever dislodge or loose the camera in a grassfield, you have a smaller radius field to go and find your lost camera beneath the grass. it will serve as a go3 finder. trust me, i almost lost my go2 and use the pod to act as a beacon to get me in range to find my lost camera in just a 5 inch grass which is just lurking 3ft behind me

If you are looking for superior video quality, then the Pocket 3 is an easy recommendation imo.

I have go2 and that is one of my major issues. I lost so much footage with the too easy of a way to start and stopping recording.

Yeah it really sucks. Do they have a fix for it with the GO 2 like they do with the GO 3? (which now let’s you customize the single & double clicks of the button - I set mine to only do anything on a double click)

I bought this and tested in a well lit room, the video quality is poor even with all the tips from other youtubers on how to setup the camera. I guess it works well mostly when their is really good lighting, like during a bright day, but still not the best of quality compared to other action cameras. I returned it and I am sticking with my X3 for the meantime.

There’s a reason almost all the good footage you see with this camera (and many action cameras to be fair) and that’s cause it’s pretty bad in anything other than bright daylight. It uses a 1/2.3” sensor whereas the X3 uses two 1/2” sensors (most new smartphones are using 1/2” sensors and larger). As you can see in low light test in my new video comparing the DJI Action 2 and Insta360 GO 3, the image quality of both cameras fall apart when the sun goes down, but especially the GO 3. It’s definitely a shame and there’s ways to work around it (mainly by never filming in lowlight) but if you’re looking for something to capture everything regardless of lighting then sticking with your X3 or looking to upgrade your smartphone is probably the best move. Glad you figured all that out within the return window! Have seen too many people get stuck with products that didn’t perform as they were expecting.

If you have ANY knowledge and have purchased ANY of the other Insta360 cameras, you wouldn't be comparing it to action cameras. I use the Insta360 GO for discreetly recording government employees or any other unscrupulous representatives of companies while conducting business with them. It's good to have documented my interactions with them in case I need proof of our interactions and what they have said to me.

Oh, I’m sorry. Guess the fact that they literally put “Action Camera” in the name of the product made me think it was an action camera. I’m silly like that sometimes.

@DigitalTechReviewsTips Explain the other categories again? 1. Camera 2. Flying camera 3. Action camera. There are not too many options to create another category. But if that's to much for your childish brain to comprehend, I understand. You don't want to try to be too much of a smartass. Only 20k followers is shaky ground. 😅
