I love how his parents selling him is ironically the best thing that ever happened to him, as it gives him a loving family.

I'm really surprised Iruma didn't end up as a vengeful person considering his parents being complete assholes. I'm glad Iruma is really kind, it makes the show ironic since his friends are "demons" and demons are usually portrayed as bad and destructive creatures. He's basically an angel in an all demons' school lol.

Sullivan said Iruma's his FIRST grandson, which makes me think about all the other children he's gonna buy from a bunch of different worlds. And Iruma will be there for all of it

'Fun' little fact: Despite the circumstances that led to iruma being sold to Sulivan being portrayed as comedic and played for laughs, the only people Iruma absolutely, totally, completely, unmistakably realizes he's ever hated are his own parents. And in a world of demons where attempted murder and worse are being directed towards him and dangerous situations harming people he loves happen on a semi-regular basis and he only ends up feeling DISAPPOINTED, that's saying a LOT about how utterly evil his parents really are.

I have a theory that at some point, Iruma's parents will have blown all the money they got in the trade and now want him back. Grandpa being fair, would say it's up to Iruma to choose, his parents would know how Iruma's mind works and simply tell him to come home to them since he is a total pushover and can never say- Iruma: *NO*

This show is an absolute treasure. I ended up watching it on a whim because I saw some clips of it on RU-vid. Glad I gave it a chance because it's such an amazing series. I honestly cannot wait for season 3.

Imagine if Iruma decides to go look around the human world one time in the far future and his parents recognize him and he tells them he is the most famous demon in the netherworld without even being a demon

Btw sabnoch says its NOT an older brother, or a dying sister. His whole reason for being demon king is because it's cool as hell

For such a dark premise, this was actually a really heartwarming anime. It really struck a chord with me, even though I do have loving parents.

Aah, I remember when there were only like 3-5 episodes out and I absolutely HAD to take myself to the manga. Really looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

I expected this show to be a Generic Isekai, but by the end of Season 1 I wanted to profusely apologize for even thinking that. This show is so wholesome and Iruma, Asmodeus and Clara are one of the most wholesome friendships in Anime

Imma be honest, this anime is stupid, just all in the best ways, totally worth the watch, a perfect comedic aspect along with cute moments between human/demon, the entire basis of the show is perfectly designed, such as the fact that the human parents seemed more demonic and evil than the actual demon who actually loved and cared for Iruma. 10/10

This anime REALLY needs more attention, it's easily One of the most unique idea: instead of a demon coming to the human world, One human comes to a world full of demons.

Iruma's life in the human world: Abuse, and neglect. Iruma's life in the Netherworld: A loving grandpa, a supportive butler, 2 best friends he enjoys hanging out with, and a beautiful, confident girlfriend who gives him a goal to aim for.

I love that he's a short boy shipped with a tall beauty at his school.

I feel like this anime would be amazing! The fact that the MC isn’t too OP but still isn’t weak makes it amazing! The best MC is powerful enough to beat others but can still be beaten ❤

a part that really hit me was when kiriwo asked why he wasn't in despair, iruma just answered that being in despair doesn't fill your stomach. and that line alone just showed me that his backstory wasn't going to be a gag, it was something that was real. and this showed me that he had no intentions of returning to the human world with his parents.

In terms of wholesomeness and comedy, this show is one of my favorites. My cheeks hurt every episode because of laughing and smiling throughout my watch.

This is my favorite currently running shounen. It doesn't have enough impact for me to call it a true all-time masterpiece, but it's a clear 9 out of 10.

The plot so far feels like this kid keeps accidentally tripping and accidentally doing flips trying to save himself and everyone thinking he’s really cool even though he doesn’t want to be super cool

I was always floored by the comical way they depicted Irumas depressing as heck life - his parents are awful and I really really hope at some point in the future there is some sort of personal karma inflicted upon them - it would just be cathartic. How dare they do that to this cinnamon roll.

The 'be better than his pacifist older brother' was one of the fake "reasons" (along with "destiny" and a "promise"). His real reason was simply was cause it's fuckin cool. His older bro IS a pacifist tho, but as far as I can tell Sabro doesn't hold that against him (it's his *father* he seems to have issues with) Edit: Wicked Phases aren't locked to just teenage demons (tho I wouldn't be surprised if they have these lapses more frequently), it can happen to any. *gestures to the mention of Dali-sensei taking time off for a Wicked Phase in s2*

THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED ANIME IVE EVER SEEN IT IS LITERALLY SO AMAZING I WATCHED IT AS IT WAS RELEASED ITS SO GOOD!

How could any parents be so selfish and sell their child? I been watching the show and I really like it so far. I really like the characters also I love how Iruma is overall. He is also pretty lucky he had such a hard life. He parents didn’t care, he barely ate anything,and his friends didn’t even know his name. Then he has someone who loves him, more than enough food to eat, and friends that always want to be with him. I don’t want to sound ungrateful about my life but if I had that happened to me I wouldn’t want to come back home. I love my parents and life so I probably wouldn’t agree in the first place but if I did I would love to visit home.

Man nothing was better (so far) then S2 "spell bad boy" that was basically like him both being an actual misfit with an attitude and/or if he was going through what the shows call an "evil cycle." Really shows you what he could've been like from day 1, or what a lot of characters sorta act like but not for anyone else's benefit, as he was still doing it for others not just himself. I have to admit while to me this show is "Soul Eater-Light" or "Diet Soul Eater" it has it's charm, and the humor isn't too overdone to feel misplaced. Some typical things yeah (like the one char who can't stop being a total perv for instance) but it's different enough, despite seeming a bit slow paced. It's also nice it's not a constantly ongoing one so it gets the 20-something episodes and breaks, so the animation in other words is actually pretty good too. Heck most of it looks better than some of the wierd ugly expressions they keep shoving into Demon Slayer's S2 2nd half (entertainment district).
