Not many people can actually say their field watch has seen field service haha! This watch was made for you! From the color on the box to the strap. It blends perfectly with your green color pallet and looks like its stock issue in your line of work. I have seen people review watches with silk gloves, I have seen people review watches with cotton gloves, but you are the first to review them with combat gloves! 😅I love these! Simple or not you dont want to be struggling with overly complicated stuff when you are being shot at. Stay blessed brother! Hope you are keeping well!

Back when I was in the RAF for a short time. They had boxes of used G10s with no battery, I did snag some but I allways thought it was just a metal swatch and not many people would wear them, mostly casios and whatever. I have a special shitter as in my first adult watch for middle school. It's an avia marina (ironicaly it was endorsed by the RAF) simple 316 (feid swimmer) as in no rotating bezel , hardlex and a miyota date quartz with a 10 year battery life. It was used hard. As in the crystal is so scratched it's hard to tell the time, but it has male end links and it's too tight so maybe a new clasp and sapphire crystal, my first big boy watch was a Tissot field/dress that I loved but it was lost in luggage. Also when my dad died someone took his GMT master from the 50s. I still have a few other watches from him but it was a rare watch with the original Bakelite bezel...... Any item can have alot of value from the memory's you make with it but CWC must be smoking crack at that price.... I understand why they went with the G10 as less than 40 years before it came out it was very hard getting movements and watches from Switzerland. Some militarys will order commemorative watches but I don't think any has a standard issue. I do have a north Korean quartz watch (pretty sure it's made in China or at least the movement and battery) it looks like a military watch but I'm not sure.(Not a good watch but NK wants cheap stuff that kind of works and looks like it's from NK) Most wear casios but now since watches with sapphire, ceramic. Quality but low cost Japanese auto movements I do see people wearing them more also higher end stuff as watches have become hot.

Totally onboard with your statement, about "attaching your own memories" - I had the same thoughts, when I bought my G10 4 - 5 years ago. Its a cracking watch, that means a lot to me. I have worn it through some really testing times in life(2 strokes within one year, when I was 52) , and its a watch that will always mean a lot to me. Great review, you have a new subscriber!

Great review with nice photography. I like the G10, you may have prompted me to buy one 😁. Higher water resistance would be the only way to improve it, but that might make it thicker, so may be not 🤔

I recently had the chance to get my birthyear watch: an 81 CWC Fatboy Navigator. Certainly, the most expensive quartz field watch I will ever buy. But it's something very special. The G10 watches are just legends in their own right if you ask me.

For the price, it should be an automatic or at least a smooth sweep quartz. It should also have an option for removable spring bars. Who wants to wear a sweat drenched smelly nylon NATO strap?

It's a classic and purposeful timepiece, but it isn't boring by any means. Of all the straps shown in the video, I liked the mustard yellow one most. But most importantly, may this watch always bring you luck when you use it for its intended purpose mate.

Great review, is this the FORSTNER KLIP at 1:00 ? If so; 18mm or 19mm? I’m unsure what size. Ideally don’t want the gaps like the nato strap does. Thanks

I love the style of that watch but it is too expensive to me for what it is. Yes, it has a historical background… but let be honest, it is fairly basic. I wouldn’t pay more than 200€ (170£) for it. Last year I bought a replica of this CWC, the Rdunae RA-01 G10. It has the exact same dimensions, a well made sandblasted finish on 316L steel, a screw down case back, 50m WR, a slight patina on the (good) lume, very convenient removable spring bars (I don’t like NATO straps), a nice double domed K1 mineral crystal which is pretty scratch resistant (easy and cheap to replace by an acrylic crystal in the future if needed), and a quartz Miyota 2035 Super (very basic movement but good enough, as precise as most of quartz, and only 3€ to replace if any problem). And it only cost 50€ (58£). This is my only replica watch in the collection. I don’t like buying replicas but for that specific one, I wasn’t ready to pay that much for a fairly basic watch. To me, CWC prices are a bit high, even with their history.
