I fell in love with Black Honey when I found out that the makeup artist for the Lord of the Rings movie used it on Arwen (Liv Tyler). Yes, I am a nerd lol. I bought it 21 years ago and have loved it ever since! But it does wear off really quick and for the price it's hard to justify buying it ever month. So thank you for doing this video!! I now have many awesome dupes to choose from!!! Going to drugstore first thing tomorrow and grabbing up some of these beauties! May even splurge on the Bobbi Brown dupe! It's exactly what I have been looking for many years now. 🥰❤️
I didn’t know this!!!! What a fun fact. And that Liv Tyler with her beautiful lips and alabaster skin… makes total sense why this would look so good. I actually recently picked up the Olio and Osso balm in Berry and I love it as a dupe too. It’s not terribly longwearing but it’s a pleasure to reapply. Let me know which you end up picking up and loving❤️
@@adriannyc1 Thank you for replying! I subscribed and I am enjoying your videos! I love your personality and your dedication. Yes, Liv Tyler is so beautiful and her makeup in LoTR is just simple and gorgeous!! So I did some research and her makeup artist used the Black Honey throughout all of the movies. Foundation was MAC Studio Finish in NC 15, Blush is MAC Sheertone in Shy (discontinued) now it's Pink Swoon, MAC Velvet eyeshadow in Vanilla, and Clinique Eyebrow Shaper in Taupe. I think the mascara was by Lancome. If you look at the pics of her as Arwen you can really see the Black Honey on her lips. Just thought I would share that if anyone was interested. I love looking up movie makeup. I picked up the Burts Bees and Bobbi Brown dupes and I love them both so far! Especially the Bobbi Brown because it seem like it will last so much longer than the Clinique. Could you do a dupe list for Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk? 🥰❤️
@@amandadunn1238 hii so from ur comment it seems u love BH did it ever dry ur lips out after wearing it all day? or for several days in a row. i want to like it! but i can get over how it dries my lips out through the day :(
Great variety of dupes 😍my favorite dupe is the Nivea blackberry tinted balm ..its inexpensive $3 at most drugstores, super nourishing and spot on color dupe ..
I agree! Definitely the most cost effective. Burts Bees and ELF is pretty close too🌸 I’m putting together a new video for Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk. Trying to find affordable dupes there is fun too ☺️
Thanks for this video! I found that I have two of your alternatives to the Clinique. Now I'm not so itchy to check out the Clinique. I have the honest beauty one and the Sephora collection one. Also the Sephora lip clicks are all on sale for $5! It's such a nice formula that I've picked up each of the shades.
Yes! Sephora clicks ones are good. I just find that they turn a bit more quickly than other lip products but I love their texture and the price is awesome!
I've been wearing black honey for years, I wouldn't be without it & luckily have about twenty sample sizes loll I just love it. Now it's gone viral it's hard to get hold of - the Elf sheer black cherry is perfect dupe but I'm going to try the Nivea, already got a good supply of the Burt's bees I'm mad on the colour, just wish there was a stain I could find!
Ahhhhh good point, a stain. I’m sure there’s a K-beauty brand with a good one. I’ll need to think on it. I’m not a huge wearer of stains because my lips peel easily and they tend to highlight that😞 but I love the concept and look💙
Yeah I've been looking at the K beauty but I can't find one either, I tried a couple (not the black Honey colour) but they're very drying and not really my colour's. I've found the Bobbi Brown Telluride though and it's in my basket, it looks fantastic. Brilliant video!❤️
I loved the video, watched the whole thing! I love that you have found so many options, since I can't find the OG Clinique where i live. I wish though that you had written the name of the dupes so that I got the spelling right and can find them when skippeing back and forward in the video :)
Thank you!!!! I am so sorry I didn’t add them in the description! I just listed them all to help. I also added hearts by some of my favs since I’ve refined my opinion just a bit these last 6 months☺️
Hello! Thanks for sharing this video. Now i have a few more lippies to collect lol. I agree with you 100% on that cheeky cherry lip balm from Elf. Nice color but I can’t stand the smell and taste!! I think the loreal and shiny revlon one will be coming home with me today lol.
The L’Oréal Shines are so beautiful and the gleaming plum is the prettiest color,. I do t know why more people don’t mention smell and taste on products because that ELF one... I just don’t know how that passed quality control🤣😂 and elf is so good usually 🤷🏻♀️
I had a L'Oreal lipcolor in the late 90s & early 2000s like this one, but unsure if it was same formula back then. I had one in a wine tone & one in a creamy nude. They came in a skinny, squareish, long & slender chrome-colored tube!
what an awesome review!!!!! thank you for your time and dedication ! my quest is to find a long lasting version of black honey. the color is beautiful, the hang time is awful! in your quest, did you find one product to be longer lasting (more of a stain) than the others? thank you again!
Thanks for watching! I am so happy you found it helpful. Of the group I tried, the longer wearing ones are Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color and Colourpop Just A Tint. They still aren’t crazy longwear but better than Clinique’s lasting power. Another thing you might consider is taking a much darker lip color in the same vein and blotted it down. I find that creates a more comfortable longwear without needing different products - a good formula for that would be MAC satin or any Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution
Thank you! I love the palette I used so happy to share, it’s Colourpop’s Wine & Only. I did a one week review on it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OELUihb7De8.html . I believe it’s still for sale on the Colourpop site🌸
Thanks for watching. I would say that both the Olio E Osso and Glossier are thicker balms… especially Glossier, that smooth lip lips and create a comfy overlay. Olio E Osso is a bit more emollient, so I like it just a tad better when my lips are feeling tired but it’s a product with a short shelf life - under a year. Another one that’s balm like is the Bobbi Brown crushed in Telluride, it’s pricey but has a long shelf life and the color is beautiful. Food for thought👍
That elf cheeky cherry is the worst tasting and smelling thing I've ever used. It also feels like it's burning around my lips. Such a shame since I was so excited about the colour and finish to it!
I agree. I tried not to go too far down the rabbit hole because I know everyone is different but I never understood why the Ride or Die balms were so highly praised🤨
