Fun fact: Supaidaman actually inspired Power Rangers source series, Super Sentai. Stan Lee actually tried to get a previous version of Super Sentai on the air, but Fox turned him down. A manager of the Marvel television division knew Haim Saban, who was also interested in adapting the Sentai. They collaberated to make the first iteration of the MMPR. So Stan Lee and Supaidaman indirectly made Power Rangers. Watch "The Toys That Made Us" episode about Power Rangers for further info

Couple of corrections Miles is the one who names Gwen, Ghost Spider, they thought she died in an explosion during Spidergeddon and when she's revealed to be alive Miles makes a joke about her being a ghost, or some sort of... Ghost Spider, and Gwen says she likes the idea. Second Takuya, Toei spidey predates Power Rangers, and had nothing to do with Toei trying to get into the West in fact they were forbidden from even sharing it to the West. It was 100% Marvel's idea, their comics weren't selling in Japan, so a member of their team thought it would be great marketing. And Toei 100% DID know Spider-Man, but the guy charged with bringing it over knew what worked in Japan and knew it needed to be changed and Marvel gave ZERO fucks, so they changed it. Because they needed to sell toys as Toei told him because that's what their shows lived and died by Leopardon was invented, also hence why there's the Spider Bracelet, and GP-7. They actually reference the comics A LOT on set to get the poses as close to the comics as possible. So Toei actually DID know the comics, they just chose not to follow them in order to cater to their country as again Marvel comics weren't already working as is.

I'm Glad that someone said Andy's line about lists, because it wouldn't feel right if someone didn't say it. I do think that the writers of the list could have done a better job of filling it out though, especially considering they did add in the comic versions of some of the characters already in the first one. Now I'm not sure I'd have any real suggestions for who should be on the list instead of them. Would Spiderman India count as I don't know if Sony would have the rights to that one. Spider from the pages of Exiles (A Murder crazed Peter Parker merged with an alien symbiote that looked like carnage, that was part of the Weapon X team in those books) as since the Exiles were part of the X-men side they might not cross him. Man-Spider of Mutant X would be another one they might not end up crossing (This was an X title book so I don't know as they would have the rights to him or what).

War for Cybertron, Legacy, Studio Series and Masterpiece are all highly poseable, great looking figures that will do way more to show how in touch you are with nerd culture than a licensed product.
