I'm confused here. How do I get an RSS link to begin with? Do I need to first upload my podcast to one of the selected platforms? Or is there a different place where I upload my podcast to generate an RSS feed link, that I can then use with all the platforms I want to publish with? Thank you

Yes! When you sign up for a hosting platform and create your podcast, they will create an RSS feed link. You can then submit that link to all of the major podcast listening platforms.
