You're correct in concept, but it was a bit more than just increasing the fuel pressure. The ECU usually adapts to some extent to richen up the mixture, but it's done through increasing the output of the fuel injectors. In most cases, the ECU is limited in its adaptability, so a tune is required to get the results you need.

@vastdesign They came on certain specific models of the Z, but a really easy way to tell is to look at the tachometer. If the redline is at 6500, it's a regular VQ35DE. If it's 7000, it's a Revup. (The HR's have a redline at 7500). That's probably the easiest way to tell.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I think you're referring to the reset procedures for the ECU. In that case, yes. There are some good instructions - one much simpler than the rest - on resetting the ECU, which is a good way to speed up the re-learn process when adding significant breathing modifications.

@antodiaz1 I saw the video. That's your cutoff kicking in at 7400 (which is certainly interesting). The redline, though, is still at right there at 7000 like I said it was. Not just trying to get out of the face-slapping - the whole reason the discrepancy came up was because I suggested looking at the tach. to determine what type of VQ engine the car had.

Definitely noticed a big difference; later dynos showed gains almost exactly the same as what they advertised on the Motordyne website, so I was pretty happy with that. I'm also pretty sure it helped out with all the things I've done since making this video, too.

The improvement in the top end was minimal, but gains in the midrange were enormous. As far as getting one, you need to make sure that you have a RevUp engine - otherwise, the MREV won't do you any good. I responded to one of your comments in another video on this. Hope it helps.

I haven't heard FI in person, unfortunately. Stillen TD exhaust gives no rasp. However, there is some rasp that kicks in a bit with the HFCs. For me, that's the only downside for them. I love it, otherwise. If you haven't already, I recommend checking out my other videos. You can get a better idea of how it sounds (from the outside). If you watch the High Quality versions, you should be able to hear what I'm talking about and see if it's too bad for you.

Some people are stupid and argue even though they don't own these cars. Let me clarify since I have an '06 G35 6MT that has the same drivetrain and can speak for myself. Yes, the TACH "redlines" at 7000. That is obvious by the red bar starting at 7000 RPM. The engine does not. It rev limits (different word) at about 7400 (according to the factory tach). As for the shift light, it's adjustable. I have mine set at 6500 since I don't drive mine too sporty and I like the early warning.

@gtracer33428 Dude, I totally would, except I didn't say rev limit. I said tachometer redline. Two completely different things, even if the rev limit being that high is still extremely peculiar.

So this you followed the ECU priming of the throttle pumping etc etc instructions at the last step on install?

Did you notice a big gain with the lower plenum?I am thinking of getting one.

What year is your Z?

Did your engine arrive soon light turned on after you installed the mrev2 and spacer?

I have an 04 G35... I think it redlines at 6500
