Thanks for sharing Sam, love hearing about Tacoma longevity. Your story proves proper care even with heavy use is the key to a long driving history. Thanks again. Proud 2021 TRD Off Road owner.
Thank you and Sam what an awesome truck! Hope to get as much luck with my Taco as that has for him! I got a 2nd gen and hope to get somewhere near that range one day! Great video and content on this channel as well!
And my brother in law basically called me a MORON for buying a used 3rd gen Tacoma.with 26k miles from Enterprise Car Sales. I have 60k of daily and weekend warrior fun miles on it and that 6 cylinder engine still purrs like a baby kitten every morning I fire it up…It’s paid off and now I got 310k miles to go!
When did you or did you change the spark plugs and dis you try a new coil pack on the cylinder that is showing the misfire? Nice video, sir. Thank you for sharing.
It’s sad how American trucks just don’t hold up like they used to. Not just with regular maintenance. Usually needing a major repair along the way. Ford, Chevy need to get back to these type of builds.
Pretty incredible. Love my 2020 TRD OR, only 33k on mine so far, just changed my diff fluids, transfer case, and transmission fluid (drain/fill) thanks to your videos. 🇺🇸
You need to snag a 2023 before they are all gone. I just got a 2023 limited with upgraded tires for 38k. Those 24’s with the 4 cylinder turbos may not last towing a lot like you do. Just a thought.
Badass truck dude and a hard-working man at that! Keep up the good work bro hopefully Toyota hears about this and will reimburse you for the other truck you purchased and take this one off your hands! It's not a million miles but for what it's done in the way it's worked for him I would say it's about the same thing 400K hard miles
Nice. I have 93,000 on my 2020 TRDSport. I do all my own maintenance. Oil changes every 5K with Kirkland oil. Looking forward to 1 million miles. Also, looking forward to the maintenance map.
I'll forward your request. Tacoma World does have a few discussions about this. Its actually quite a bit easier than servicing the automatic Thanks Greg the Editor
Hay, Sam have you cleaned out the Throttle body and map sensor lately. It's nice to see that the FKS can hit that high millage with all the plastic coolant lines. Thanks' for sharing your trucks story!!
Im gonna go against the grain and say that its impressive but Im not surprised. Its AGE that kills vehicles not solely mileage. Now add the years and miles together and you have something to be in awe of. Either way its nice to see that the 3.5 can go the distance.
It's nice to see though cause the 2nd gens and their 4.0v6 thought these 3.5 dogs wouldn't last. I dont like the 3.5 but knew it was reliable, which is what I want at this point.
Great video & well done for keeping it in tip top shape. Love seeing a heavily used truck instead of a mall crawler. Who makes that front bumper? Couldn’t find anything similar to it…
I think he may go in depth a bit more in another video he posted a while back on RU-vid. If you look up “endurocox” or high mileage Tacoma you may find it easily
@@teamoildrop Yeah its way better. Especially on the interstate. I was actually able to cruise up a steep incline holding 85mph in 6th gear. No more wonky unpredictable shifting. Thank god! 🙌 it was an hour drive there so I really got to feel how obnoxious it was before the switch.
Wow I'm impressed by all the original parts list! What year is it? I run a 17 OR MT as well, same color, 77k miles. Lately I started to have random intermittent hard and/or no start issues for a couple of tries. I don't have any check engine code, and it always cranks strong and runs perfectly once it starts so not the battery/starter/alternator, and it never hesitates, so I doubt it is the fuel pump. I haven't been trying that long enough yet to confirm it's the pump, but it hasn't happened since I leave the key at "on" and wait to hear the fuel pump finish its priming before starting. I'm gonna check for spark next time it happens. Can't wait to see your truck hit 621k miles because that'll be 1M kms for us beavers ;)
My ‘19 Off Road has been great so far. Just took it in for state inspection, and independent mechanic (therefore I believe him) told me my power steering rack is leaking on the passenger side (fluid actually went down from hot/full to cold full line in 30 days). I only have less than 80,000 miles.
My rear main seal started to leak at 110k. Hopefully, the new one will last a whole lot longer. Rack and pinion bearing on driver's side had oil in the dust cover. Only 126k on my 2017, going to go 500k.
I think any car that's taken care of can reach this. My 2012 Subaru STI is 131,000 miles on it's original everything still and not one single problem. And subarus are notorious for blowing up but I say it's the driver.
