Today Kait and JJ are joined by a member of our community, Sarah Dickmann to talk about being an “older” single, and even navigating fertility.
--------------
TIMESTAMPS:
00:00 Introduction
09:30 As of now, you’re 39 years old! And at this time in your life as an “older” single, you’ve admitted you’ve started facing some hard questions. What are some of those for you?
12:50 When it comes to wrestling with possibly giving up the dream of kids… what has that been like. As an older single you end up giving up a lot of dreams…What did you say to God in that moment where you felt like you may have to give up that dream?
18:45 Your mentor Barbara said to you, “Jesus is the shepherd, and He calls you His sheep”
The question for you and for anyone wrestling with disappointment is… do you really believe He is the Shepherd? Do you believe He is YOUR shepherd? Do you really believe He is writing a story that is better than the one you are writing for yourself? What has that been like for you?
24:43 What are just some absolute FAUX PAUX’s… things you hate that people say or do or assume about you or to you at this point in your life?
40:53 As you’ve gotten older, have you experienced wanting to lower your standards or regret the past and not going farther into some relationships?

She could always adopt and still be a mother to a child at any age - surely there's no cut off period for that

One of my questions to this 39 year old lady in this podcast episode and to you as well, is if your standards and expectation for a significant other are too high and unreasonable, if that’s the reason why you’ve been single all this long?

100% she took zero accountability for her position, actually blamed God too saying she is still waiting for God to send her a person. He probably did, she just rejected him.

Most "Christian" women are like this. They say they're looking for someone who "loves the Lord", whose "heart is for the Lord and they're leading spiritually". But, it always comes down to the physical for them. Anyone under 6', not looking in that direction.

A woman's fertility peaks around 21, so technically it STARTS to decline in a woman's early 20's.

"God are you going to ask me to give up my dream of having kids" Sweetheart God didn't do this to you. God doesn't sprinkle fairy dust on us and magically orchestrate our romantic life. He gives us free will and we make choices. When a woman has chosen to not marry/have kids and it's now too late....she needs to take personal responsibility/accountability. Unfortunately accountability is all too often kryptonite to a woman.

What she said at 43m is so true, you are looking for someone who loves Jesus more than you. if you're with someone who loves Jesus less or not at all, you will get pulled in that direction. If your relationship doesn't mean greater ministry together, they are not the one. That's not to say that Fatherhood and Motherhood, are not ministries, they absolutely are. It all starts in the home.

This is damaging. Malachi 2:15 disagrees with you: God expects you, if you get married, to be faithful to your wife and (if you produce children) to product Godly offspring. Your home, your wife, and your kids are your primary ministry; and if your "great minstry together" does not product secure Christian childrens eventually you have failed this Scriptural mandate.

@@Amoki86 Hi friend, what is damaging? I don't see how what we are saying is different, I agree Fatherhood and Motherhood are ministries and that the home / family is a primary ministry. Explain what is "damaging"
