Great stuff, James! How does your assets look so sharp from Quixel? When I import from the Bridge they alway look shiny and rounded.. No matter if 2k or 8k.
Great video once again James , is there any way you can go more into depth on how to make the textures from megascans to be 3d with displacement and not have that 2d displacement ? I can’t find any info on it Also maybe how to go into the shader menu and change the look of some assets and color match them for example some of the Utah canyon rocks with some of the Icelandic rocks thanks in advance keep up the amazing vids bro
Thanks so much!! Yeah I believe I've talked about this in some other tuts before, but I can explain a bit more here - I thought I added some displacement for this piece, but it turns out I didn't. What you need to do is something I started to explain here - copy the file path of wherever you saved out your megascans files. Go over to your plane and add subdivision and a displacement modifier. Select to use the UV for the displacement and click to load an image as the texture. Paste the file location you copied from megascans and locate the height or displacement file (should look black and white) and select this. Adjust the strength of the displacement and UV mapping as you see fit and enjoy!
I really wish I knew how to do this. Have only been working just in photoshop but wanna take it to the next level. Have an album cover assignment coming up and really want to use Blender. But yeah....I have only got one brain.
