Watch in 1080p please. Shadow of the Colossus rednered @ 2560 x 1792 and cpatured in 1080p HD. Super smooth framerate, blah blah blah... 3rd colossus, Gaius. Also the cutscene after Emluation with pcsx2.
I played this game with a pretty decent surround-sound system and Jesus Christ when this guy woke up the bass rumble made it feel like my floor was going to collapse :D

@jespero93 The blur is on, but it is less visible simply because of the higher framerate. The thicker the frames are, the less difference between them to be interpolated = less blur visible... But there really is blur.

@mahogi The sound is choppy because you arent reaching full speed. The latest revisions compiled on Emucr might improve things a little, but most likely your cpu isnt isnt fast enough.
@heavengalvez The previously common offset errors are corrected too, by the HIDDEN offset hack option. The only slight bug left is the bloom being too strong, if the offset hack is enabled.
In a nutshell: 1. Get a PC with a CPU running at at least 3ghz (preferably 4+ ghz), and a strong graphics card too, plus an analog gamepad. 2. Make an iso of your game disc. That's what you'll use, not the acutal disc. 3. Download pcsx2's latest unsupported revision from emucr. 4. While in NATIVE resolution mode in gsdx, fiddle around with the EE and VU speedhacks to find the balanced settings for your CPU (higher EE & VU hack levels = lower framerates --> better performance).
@xeneres16 No. The three "snakes" are the largest: 3. Dirge (earth) 2. Hydrus (water) 1. Phalanx (wind). Is the double that any. Gaius is the second largest humanoid, from behind Malus, very very behind XD. For example, Phaedra, the horse, is similar for Gaius in height.
@koover Right now I have a gtx460 too, although I recorded this with a 285 wich performed better with pcsx2. But the gtx 460 runs it fine too, especially with a little overclocking. The game is very cpu dependant too though. Over 3ghz is needed for an adequate performance, 4gh is kinda optimal (still could be better...). The framerate is controller by the EE and VU speedhacks by the way. The less you use the better the framerate. Don't let that """""fps""""" counter in the title bar fool you.
omfg this is so awesome.... bring this updated version to sony and make them release it on psn, MAKE them.... i always wanted a hd version re-make of sotc, and you just did it like that.... i want to play it aswell =[....... kind of like i also love the god of war collection
@MrCaioable This is not 60 fps. It's 30. The fps number that the GS window's title bar shows is not informative on how much fps the game really renders at. It only informs you about the emulation SPEED. 60 fps = 100% speed but that doesnt mean that game is really rendered at 60 fps...
God dammit he's got a small amount of health left, but he REFUSES to do the attack that lets me climb him. I've been running around like an idiot for the past 30 minutes trying to get him to do it again.
I don't know what defects you're talking about, I've played this game a trillion times through and it was nothing less than pristine. True there are slightly awkward bits but I don't know any creation in the history of ever that doesn't have that. Maybe these "defects" are some aspects of your own opinion? I don't know what PERFECTION in a game would be but for me, this game came as close as I could ever wish for.
@werewolfyman Well, it might run fine with the multi-core speedhack enabled. But judging by how my gtx 460 performed worse than my gtx 285, I think the gtx 550 will only be enough for 2x resoltuion, cuase it's memory bandwith is lower than the gtx 460's (wich is lower than the 285's)
correct me if i'm wrong but gaius is higher than most of the four-legged colossi, like higher than quadratus of phaedra...despite the images that shows him like a lot lower than them
@INNUENDO88 i still have hope lol, soon E3 and something about the last guardian, maybe they'll also announce the hd version of sotc as a psn download? or just like gow collection that it will be in stores soon... who knows maybe it's even an extra if you buy the last guardian?
i was a bit skeptical to how it would run on the pc and how the framerate would turn out. this looks amazing! even though is the blur still on even if the framerate is this high ? cause i loved the blur effects in the game.
Yea, I never would have beleived a year ago or so that I will ever witness SOTC in hi-res either... But when I saw how vigorously was ps2 emulation developing, I decided to buy a strong pc instead of a ps2 compatible ps3 (or any ps3 at all...) What te makers of GOW did deserves very much respect indeed. Too bad that Team Ico didn't do the same with The Last Guardian : \

It wouldn't matter because the ps2 is not equipped for a higher resolution/graphic rate, even if you had an HDMI and played it on the LCD. I don't think it even had an HDMI plug.

Curious: Why does Gaius have two different models? /watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vnNuDwJ_ils In this link, Gaius has a complete first ring on his gauntlet on the sword arm. In this video, it is fractured and broken. Can someone explain why this has occurred? I am trying to make a LEGO version of him, but I don't know which one to use.
