• 4 INGREDIENT KETO TRAD...

My 9.5" Glass Baking Dish: amzn.to/2ZxfJNi
My Turkey Pan for Water Bath: amzn.to/36x8Qx5
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F
2. In a bowl, mix together the flan ingredients.
3. Butter or grease the entire inside of the pan.
4. Make caramel sauce
5. In a small saucepan, add ½ cup of allulose with water, on low heat
6. When the sauce begins to simmer raise heat to medium high
7. While stirring, allow to turn into an amber color
8. Remove from heat allow to cool slightly and then pour into prepared pan
9. Pour in the flan mixture.
10. Place the pan into a bigger dish and pour 1-inch of boiling water into the dish.
11. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Make sure the cake is done by checking it and making sure it comes out clean.

100% Allulose 70% sweetness of sugar should be ESPECIALLY EMPHASIZED, since the others won't caramelize! Thank you💜Mayra, for this perfect recipe. I used to buy our local Lola's Market single servings of flan as a pre-Keto/IF treat, and knew it should be the easiest to 'low carb' after discovering Allulose's caramelizing super powers and also its wonderful trick of acually blocking carb metabolism if used on fruit or whatever! Now if only Allulose manufacturers would stop eulogizing how it can be made from figs, while choosing cheapest gmo corn instead! Stupid FDA regs let them even legally claim it's non-gmo cuz when processed, no proteins remain. Talk about loopholes!

@@mirh16 I only know (and love) this plain one they make in my local Mexican market in Healdsburg California, 70 miles north of San Francisco. It sounds great with cream cheese, too. I would look at regular recipes if you have them, and try to do it that way, but stick to the no carb sweeteners, especially allulose, which caramelizes so nicely. Mayra 'Lo Carb Love' says she's working on her version, so you could wait for that, too. PR is Puerto Rico? I can mostly read, but haven't written in Español enough to even try! I had to look up añadir! That's a pretty important verb to not know! [If you are Puerto Rican, do you or your friends talk much about Supreme Justice Sotomayor? I think she grew up in the Bronx in NYC, but her parents are from PR, and she spoke Español first. I think she's the best (or perhaps least bad?) of them all.]

I follow your recipes religiously and they NEVER fail me. My picky fiancé loves them all too. Our keto journeys are successful because of you! I really don’t trust anyone else. Anyway, while all of your recipes are perfect and easy to follow. This one was hard for me, maybe because caramel sauce is my weak point. But alas, with one burnt thumb and many curse words later.. OH MY GOD ITS DELICIOUS. Tastes just like real flan! I poured it into a cupcake pan for portion control. Which was a good idea or else I would have finished the whole thing.. before the fiancé did! I made this yesterday, gone by the end of the day!😂 Followed recipe exactly, so easy and quick to put together, came out perfect. Kind of eggy consistency at room temp. but perfectly sweet. After refrigerating it was so creamy, great consistency. I will definitely make this again. Thank you for your recipe! 😊

I've used coconut cream and homemade almond milk before. It worked ok but the trick was put the can of coconut milk in the fridge overnight and the next day (while it's still cold!) Open up the can and pour off the watery part and just use the thick cream that's left.

I just made it and it's amazing! Only I made the huge mistake of trying to caramelize erythritol.....it didn't come out good at all so I threw it away and used keto maple syrup. But the flan itself came out amazing!! You live and learn lol 😂
