Never in my entire 2,400 hours of playing this game have I had a merciless victory like this. For context, the Nea (purposefully) DCed during her sacrifice animation. I closed hatch at 3 generators remaining, hoping to pip at least once due to the DC. I allowed the Ada Wong to escape through the door when I closed the hatch (she was a Head On gigachad so it's my duty).
The reason this is really weird is because, USUALLY, in order to get the Iridescent Emblem for Devout in the Iridescent grade, you need to kill all 4 survivors with all hooks being manual and non-forced. Having the last survivor on death hook and escape is barely enough to shove you into a Gold emblem. This is very strange to me, and might not seem weird to inexperienced gamers.
This is how Brutal/Ruthless/Merciless victories typically work:
Grades Ash - Bronze - Silver tend to be easier to get Merciless on, as they are much more forgiving for your emblems. You can get two iridescent and two old emblems in Ash and still get Merciless Victory (which always results in 2 pips, pips being the little white checkmark under your grade).
In Gold it's harder to pip and get good emblems, but it's still possible to get Merciless while allowing a single survivor to escape.
In Iridescent however, I've never been able to get 2 pips with only 3 kills by the end of the game. I've won over a thousand matches.
