I have a few extra parts to order, but I'm going to try to get this installed within the next month. Seriously not looking forward to removing the downpipe. However I got a really good deal on some inline Pro studs from a forum member, so that helped a lot. Quick note when you're installing the cam tower, to make sure you index the rocker arms when you're putting the bolts through.
@@Anastasiofan We dropped the subframe to do the DP and it was a breeze. The homie that helped said that he wished he'd done his like that. After we dropped the subframe to do his clutch, we realized that it's really not that bad, and gives you a ton of space to work.
subbed for results and to inspire, im considering tsx swapping my 07 accord with 6 speed, or a closed deck shortblock and 6 speed swap my 08 legacy gt. quite the price difference but the subie has all supporting mods already but love the honda so much!!! lol
I have this same set up with k24z7 bottom with the lower block girdle form tsx because different oil filter location and for the PRB oil pump swap with a PRB head swap k20a2-z1 head swap on 07 8th gen rbc cams made 304whp and 211wtq on pump 93 gas all oem rbc intake manifold with Dc5 type R throttle body 65mm rdx410 injectors set @70lbs fuel pressure witch make them 570cc 4-1 race head 3inc str8 SS pipe to vibrant 3in muffler has 6sp lsd with 4.3 final drive. 4.7 with k24 is too short and it seems to run out of gear when my rev limit is @8500 it’s already time to shift, with the 4.3 gives a little more of a stretch of the gear before I’m having to shift..but this set up has lasted me 6+ years now it’s currently out ju car for a refresh.doing head gasket, new valve seal, lapping all valve for fresh vale seat seal.new timing chain all chain guides and tensioner..the best Ultimate Frankenstein OEM build set up 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥👌🏾
@@looselipssinkships6543 oh, nahh. I'm saying, the head package, with a ported and polished RBC , and a 3" catless DP, and dyno tuned he'd be around the 240whp mark. I agree with you on that. K24 bottom with K20 head is the way to go on an all motor setup. He said it was for fun though, so 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@ericmoney9734 we will definitely see what happens! Lol. Y'all don't get too eager. I have to schedule an appointment with the tuner from m-f six to eight weeks out, and my first paid time off for my newish job is in May. I do think 240 whp is low, but you could very well be right!
I have a k24z3, I wonder if I can do d same and get some more power myself? Similar head i believe exhaust manifold looks d same, is it one intake one 3 lobe cam?
Envy anyone who gets a box from 4Piston. You complained about price for a second but redeemed with the R&D comment, haha. That's wine taste in Honda power, get the beer money together ... :P
I think this may have been 1 of 1 or 1 of 5 etc. I don't know if they even offer this anymore. Kinda stopped paying attention to the Honda stuff once I got rid of this and sold the car. But yeah there was room for improvement. I think they cast their own head now if I'm not mistaken.
There’s like 2-3 options now skunk 2 , and 4 piston racing for sure make some, probably gonna cam my tsx and use 4 pistons ported head whenever I go to replace my vtc gear, I’m starting to get the dreaded k24z7/3 cold start grind and I figure if I’m gonna be digging in and replacing shit I’d rather it just all be new stuff incase there’s damage on any of the valve train from the grinding new head, valves and stage 2 cameras
Yeah for NA power on your k24z7 bottom end would have been getting the PRB head swap from the 02-06 rsx type s or even with the k20z3 RBC head swap off the 8th gen si.All oem tuned with head swap will easily see 300whp with around 200-210wtqhp
I hadn't planned on doing the pump swap, but I know it frees up a fair amount of power. It's tempting but wow is it expensive for what it is. My old job, COMP Cams is regrinding my old camshafts for me. If it's something folks are interested in, COMP has lobes developed specifically for regrinding these stock camshafts. I can post the specs if you'd like.
@@Anastasiofan what are the regrind specs? If i may ask.. I wanna regrind my k24z3 stock cams and you probably know its a pain in the butt to find camshafts for the k24z motors.
@@Bboyadvice96 Contact Amick@compcams.com - Our head valvetrain engineer developed these lobes for me. It will just be a re-grind of the stock camshafts - added duration and lift, better lobe profile.
@@Bboyadvice96 There's a thread on 9thgencivic forum that deals with this entire cylinder head topic. I posted the factory cam specs and the regrind specs. You're welcome!
