Good point on making time lapses looking more professional. I’d noticed the difference earlier but didn’t know how it was achieved.

This video has been a very important explanation on how the ND filters can improve the quality and bring out the best of your photography. Love that country so much heritage.

I’m from Sweden and visited Stockholm last week! It was a very nice experience. Do you use a polarizer also or just NDs?
@TheSlantedLens
@TheSlantedLens Год назад
Generally I use just ND. Trying to use a polarizer and and ND gets complicated. If I am doing landscapes I just use the polarizer.

Great video, JP! I like the fine tuning concept of letting the regular ND do the heavy lifting and keeping the variable precision on top. Nice!

This is a good tip. For still photography - let's see if these steps are correct: 1. compose 2. focus 3. leave it and switch to manual focus 4. put the ND filter 5. release the shutter remotely or with the timer.

Newbie question here, when shooting in mid-day sunlight or water shots, would stacking a polarizing filter be a good idea? Or would a polarizing filter defeat the effects of using a ND filter? Thanks!
@lisabelo418
@lisabelo418 5 месяцев назад
I cant tell at the beginning as you explain your system you use...You put all 3 nd filters on one step down?
@TheSlantedLens
@TheSlantedLens 5 месяцев назад
It depends on how bright the day is and what my aperture choice is. You can use just the variable or two or three filters.

How do you get those reflections on the water ? What’s the shutter speed and the F stops ?

Hi The Slanted Lens, so if I've understand it right you're are stacking the Nisi ND filters right? Doesn't it affect image or video quality? Besides that what's your advise for a ND filter combined with a lens protection filter?

Thanks for the informative video, I've learned a lot. If you are using a 6 stop ND filter and a 1-5 variable, ND filter, which goes on the lens first?
@TheSlantedLens

Why? Shoot what you want to shoot. Photography is about you not about others. Unless you're doing client work, you're shooting what they want you to do anyway. Enjoy yourself.

Everyone, go to stockholm before it is destroyed by the inland ice or arctic flooding, depending on what climate myth you believe in. It has risen out of the ocean since the last ice age and will either go under again or keep going up.
