Man that camera is sweet. Looks like daylight. I figured these post Covid cars would suffer on quality in every part of of it. People got out of their habit and groove being off work some many days. In a precision world there is a lot to be lost when you get out of “practice and routine”.

I just ordered a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road double cab 6ft bed . Supposed to be here in October. I have always wanted one and so I finally went ahead and pulled the trigger. I love the 4 Runner but , like you , I just gotta have a truck with the bed . I wish I could get that 4.0 Liter in the Tacoma but it is what it is . Hey I noticed the 989 area code … I’m up here in Northern Michigan too , where I will need to toss a big buck in the back of the bed this deer season 😎

I bought my wife the same exact Runner. It’s looks identical to yours, we’ve even made the same additions as you. We didn’t like the throttle response so I added the pedal commander and it’s like an entirely different vehicle. Not faster but damn more responsive.

I was in the same boat. Ultimately my work needs had me get the tacoma. Then as luck would have it my wife wanted the 4 runner. So win win! Honestly if I didn't need the truck bed I'd go with the 4 runner personally.

Hey Jason, I own 2009 Takoma TRD offroad, Ram 3500 diesel, and we're on our second 4runner 2022 TRD pro. I couldn't agree more with your assessment. I also have a Jeep JK. Not sure if it will last as long as the 4runner, but offroad with 35 inch tires and 3.5 inch lift it is more capable than the stock TRD pro on extreme terrain. I'm sure if I did mods to the 4runner I could get it close to the jeep. However, the 4runner is a better vehicle for a daily driver and in the snow at higher speeds. Great vehicle. If I had a wishlist of vehicles I wouldn't change what I have.

Great review Jason. I have owned ,3 Tacoma's and 1 4 Runner and I loved all of them. Toyota makes a fine vehicle. Won't own nothing but a Toyota.

I cringe when I think about buying foreign but that 4 runner is so sweet! Friend of mine had trd Tacoma went through 3 front diffs in first year and he didn’t beat on the truck! After 2nd one Toyota said your on your own.

yeah even American made trucks are still 50% foreign with all the over seas components. its all the same to me. And the quality of the 4 runner is very evident! no offense but american vehicles are not matching that in my opinion. the tacoma is excellent and there are always those few vehicles that have major issues in all brands. But the tacoma reputation is superb as well. I know quite a few people with over 200 trouble free miles on them.

I need some advice, I’m stuck between getting a Tacoma and a 4Runner, I enjoy hiking, biking and going on road trips , the biggest deciding factor for me is interior space and cargo room, just thought I’d ask someone and get there thoughts from it, just been having some trouble deciding what will be best for me, also just fyi I am a 19 year old , so I don’t have any kids to hall around I’d just be halling friends as well as a bicycle and everything else id need to hike and go on long road trips and etc.

Tough call. Both are excellent. The tacoma will let you throw the bike in the back fast and easy where the 4 runner will require a hitch rack and tieing it down. The 4 runner has a ton of dry interior space that the tacoma doesn't. But the tacoma has bed space the 4 runner doesn't. Tough call.

I don’t know if you can get kdss on the Tacoma but it is unreal how it changes the handling on the 4runner. Maybe another bonus for the 4runner.

Hey Jason, off video topic, but do you have a recommendation for a good value power washer that can be used with no standard water pressure…i.e. drop a water hose in a bucket and have the pressure washer work fine? We have a place with no plumbing and it would be useful. Thanks!

Only pressure washers that will draw water are pro grade belt drive models and expensive. However you can buy a everflo 5.5 gpm 12 volt or ac pump on amazon for about 130 bucks and throw a hose on each end and it will draw from a bucket and shoot it out the other hose. Goto my SamkoWorkShop yourube channel and watch the video I just published today called 1000 dollar 2.5 hour soft wash job. In that video my soft wash rig on the Cart with the yellow hose is basically that same kind of set up.

Also keep in mind a 5gpm pump will empty a 5 gallon bucket in 1 minute

@@tradbowpodcast Thanks Jason! I’ll check out the link. The small pump seems like a good idea to move it into the pressure washer. Our bucket is actually 275 gals, lol, but it’s on only a 1ft high trailer that we use for collection from a community well a few miles away. I don’t think the hydrostatic pressure alone is enough. I’ve always been curious what the pro mobile washers used. Now I have a new channel to keep me busy!

Only 29k miles on it (it's my wife's suv). And 100% flawless as expected. We plan to keep this suv for another 10 years. Love it.

In order to get atrac or mts to work traction control and vsc need to be turned off. But vsc is great for towing a trailer.

4 runner better build quality. More solid. Just is. Tacoma better off road imo

The4 runner is much higher quality and actually in all reality the 4 runner is better offroad with its shorter wheel base and actually has a smidge more ground clearance. And the 4.0 motor in the 4 runner makes its power or torque at lower rpms. Where the 3.5 in the tacoma makes its power at over 4k rpms.

@@tradbowpodcast shorter to make it under branches? Narrower width to get between obstacle. Longer wheel base a less weight less likely to get stranded in mud? Put all the nasty gear in the box instead of in a passenger compartment? Just throwing this out there. If nothing else.. The cup holders man.

Mine has been awesome. And statistically from the 8 or 9 people I know personally that have them with well over 100k miles on each, it should be amazing. I love mine. But the ram 2500 Cummins was the best truck I've ever owned long term. I've owned 9 new f150s, 3 new Colorados, 2 new rangers, and 1 new Silverado, and now this tacoma. The ram was the best. This tacoma is great but I only have 15k miles on it so fat so we will see.
