Great video! You are absolutely right; contractors' prices are very low and contractors have to fight for their prices and do put their life constantly in risk and don't get paid enough.

This advice applies to farmers as well. As long as customers want 99 cent lettuce, farmers will continue to be subsidized and several other problems will continue.

Friend of mine is a good contractor but wanted to partner with me. I told myself a long time ago no partners in anything. But I spent a weekend talking to him about his business and he said at least a dozen times that he could sleep well if he charge what I charged. Friend or not,......I thought that was the stupidest thing I ever heard. He has property management people and I have high end home owners that just want their problem to go away. I can se. why he can make it now. I’m not taking that disease on. Cheapness is a virus that can kill your business.

As a newer business, (1.5 years) I've found that the lower price often wins the bid. It Seems to me that the lower prices others are willing to offer, the lower priced i have to be. How do you think we could raise the price for our services when there are several other companies bidding too cheap? I know what I want to make per day or job but in reality I have to settle for less at times just to pay the bills. I really don't think their is a standard calculation for a contracting business bc there are several other individuals and contractors willing to offer services for their meth and alcohol addictions lol (in my area) We do make decent money, please don't get the wrong idea. I enjoy your videos and would like to hear back from you. Thanks

Kenton. Charging the going rate is why so many contractors are struggling. Add massive value, know your math and learn to sell. Totally doable and necessary to build a strong business.
