Apple gets a lot of hate these days and they certainly changed since Steve died. But overall I really feel that they still have a positive impact on the industry - less through innovation, but more through leadership in values: they're pushing privacy and environmental friendliness like no other company, labour rights (they got the most heat for Foxconn, even though everyone produces in china these days, and they were the first to fix it). They are one of the most diverse tech companies and they're still leading in good design. Though the one thing they were most consistent on since Apple was founded is high pricing, haha. Happy birthday Apple!
@BabatundeOgunde
@BabatundeOgunde 8 лет назад
+The Rest Of Us Their design game isn't up to scratch anymore, all they care about these days is making devices out of a giant block of aluminum and thinness. You can't say that the macbook with a single usb c port is a good design and neither is the rumored iphone 7 with no headphone jack.

My favorite computer, is my childhood iMac G3 Indigo Blue. Used them at my elementary school all the time. I loved the sound of all the quiet HDDs humming throughout the entire room like it was a spaceship or something. Or turning them all on at the same time, the sound! Good memories. I own 2 of them now just for the memories!

I know, why is there so much hate against Apple? What did they do to them? I don't understand it, if they don't like their products, then they should buy other products but don't rant Apple, it's unfair. Apple definitely changed the world, and I'm proud of them and happy about it :)
@woodwind538
@woodwind538 8 лет назад
Everyone is complaining about how there hasn't been a significant change in Apple lately. Apple already does amazing things that are taken for granted. What else do you want from a phone? They are already working on lengthening the battery, and the camera quality improves every year. Everyone says they want something more, but don't specify what they want. How can a company aim a product at a prospective audience if there isn't a common need/want? The common theme for phone companies everywhere are to better call quality, camera quality, and to improve battery life. That's what every focus is on right now. But who knows? Apple might be working on a project that won't be released until years from now that will be even more revolutionary. Everyone needs to calm down.

ikr I love Apple and Google why can't we just get along? I own an Android phone but I respect Apple... I believe it's a tie for most innovative company between the two, as Google has allowed nearly the entire world to find information in a click and has so many ventures that are amazing and innovative (Nest, Android, etc.) Apple has basically made the modern OS with the GUI, created the smartphone, and perfected the MP3 player and tablets. I see people all the time complaining how Apple didn't invent the tablet, and while this is true, Even Bill Gates himself said that Apple did a better job than he did at creating one

dasWu And there's nothing wrong with it. He was obviously close to Jobs, probably even a friend. There's nothing wrong with creating a bond with a company you're this close to. Apple deserve the fame they have because of everything they helped make mainstream. The level of polish their products had during the Jobs era was exceptional, and I hope someday they get back to it. I'm not an apple user simply because their products just don't fit my lifestyle but I recognize what makes them special for a lot of people.

+tipoomaster The MacBook Air, unfortunately, will probably not see another major update. Maybe a few spec upgrades, like a switch to Skylake processors, but no major revisions. Considering that Apple introduced the 12 inch MacBook, and it's even thinner than the MacBook Air, I think over time, the 12 inch MacBook will eventually outperform the MacBook Air and will replace it altogether.

What he says at 2:30 reminds me so much of what happened with smartphones. “It was so different that the other companies laughed at it” and “Microsoft adopted it a year later”. I knew Microsoft adopted the graphical user interface not that long after the Macintosh came out, (much like how android modeled itself after the iPhone about a year after the iPhone first launched) but i didn’t know other computer companies laughed at the Macintosh when it first came out. Much like how the smartphone leaders at the time laughed at the iPhone. None of them took it seriously when it first came out. I guess history repeats itself

I'm not an apple fan now a days but I will admit if it wasn't for Apple we would have what we have today when it comes to phone or most electronics. I'm amazed at what they did. Apple started a revaluation in the electronic world and even though I don't like them now, they were once a company that I wanted the iPhone or the ipod, they changed everything.

This Man just said the truth, but when he interviewed Steve in 2007 about the iPhone, Walt wasn't convinced that the iPhone was a good idea, he made a lotta questions to Steve like trying to make steve stay without answer, but Steve always gave him an answer and a good answer that Walt Had put shut his mouth, like when he asked if the idea of making a phone without a physical keyboard was something that ppl would like, and Steve answered saying that once you get to use it you get adapted but Walt didn't believe it, and look, physical keyboards are out of the phones market, Thanks.
