In this video, I am going to explain how to bolt your clutch disc solid to your clutch disc assembly and it will not slip, you will have to be careful, however, taking off because it will pop wheelies and if you takeoff with a heavy load, you could break the chain in either your chain case or your differential. If you have any questions or comments, send me an email to Jimsfixitshop@gmail.com
And as always work safe have fun and I’ll talk to you soon. Jim

I tacked mine with a mig welder after I did the trick with the tape to get it centered. Works great. No drilling, no bolts, no interference with the parking brake. I cooled it off with water between each tack weld to prevent heat from ruining the rubber.

I had one other reviewer that also welded his but when your rubber disc wires out, it makes a little hard to replace it. Jim

Looks like I am heading this way on my old '89, 33" cut snapper retired tool & die maker with over 40 years so I will be using my parallels instead of c clamps for drill job also will be using flat head screws with Allen head I believe they are grade 8 if my memory is correct. Thanks for your videos and commentary always top notch.

I like that method for permanence but I used an antifreeze jug and cut a huge plastic shim/washer to sandwich between the disc and the and the assembly and even with all the movement it held tight with virtually no slip on a huge hill I had to mow and didn't wear out over a 5 year period. I sold it with it on there. I haven't any hills in my yard now but need to fix it soon on my current Snapper.

I am glad to have happened upon your channel, and enjoy your videos. Good stuff! What advantage does bolting the clutch disc solid give me? I've got a 30 inch, rear-engine, 12.5 horsepower Snapper. I bought it, new, in Spring of '07. I have searched and searched, on RU-vid, to no avail, for anyone with the same machine. It is, of course, basically the same as all the rest, but the 12.5 hp engine and the '30 inch' seem to make it a rare animal? I LOVE my Snapper! It is, as of late, starting to show some signs of "real" wear and tare. I guess I'll be watching your series on the rebuild.

Well, if you can’t figure out why your machine won’t climb hills or tends to slip some guys do that to illuminate all the problems, but there are other things that could be wrong that would illuminate the same problem without bolting that solid. It is a safety factor your machine will pop wheelies with it bolted solid that way especially if you have a bagger on it and it’s full, kids were getting hurt so they had to do something. Jim.

There’s not a whole Lotta difference between the 28 inch 30 inch and 33 inch but the 30 inch not many were made or sold the main ones are the 28 inch and a 33 inch. If you need any help rebuilding that bad boy just let me know. Jim.

Jim popping in to ask if.youve heard the news release sent to briggs dealers that they're discontinuing snapper and simplicity "tractors" which they further describe as their zero turns and are possibly looking at licensing options for snapper in the future.

Yes, I’ve heard that Briggs & Stratton has been having problems for quite a while. In fact, I have went into total bankruptcy and I haven’t heard how that has turned out for them. I guess you just have to wait and see what happens. I know you can always get parts from Parts Tree.Com in Texas. Jim.

Some people do it, so the clutch won’t slip any more on them. Jim.

Yes, there are several things you can check and probably repair or replace that will get you the same results. Jim
