Man oh man, hope you guys get the engine dyno figured out, this is pure tuning porn, being able to load and hold an engine at any given rpm to tune it sounds like pure fun

I have some experience with noise ruining good signals and giving bad results. First step is to switch ALL signal lines to sheilded cables, and only ground or bond on one side preferedly on the pc side. Belden or Igus cables.Use an isolated redundant power supply to clean the signal to start. More later if you want.

Hey Brent and Co. I don't know if this is just stating the obvious, but ferrite rings really help to reduce RF interference. Any hobby electronics shop will have them, else eBay. They're dirt cheap, on eBay, so worth a try I say. All you do is loop the wires through the ring two or three times and it all but removes RF emissions. Anything that oscillates at a high frequency, like the boost controller solenoid and the ignition wires, you can try adding a ferrite ring to. I don't know a thing about tuning, but I know electronics pretty well and it seemed to me, that as RPMs increased, the problem became worse, so maybe RF emissions from the ignition wiring? You can get clip on style ferrite rings too. Obviously it'll be no easy task to loop an ignition feed through a ring two or three times, but maybe you can try clipping two or three rings around an ignition lead?

Had some thing with interference with my rolling road I built using land and sea water brake, put the computer in a metal box outside the dyno room haven't had a problem since. Love your videos keep them coming!

This is one of the few YT channels I turn my adblock off! I literally sat here watching a 45min vid and when it ended I thought it was short lol Time flies when your having fun!!!

I have experienced exactly the same issue with the same type of brake, dynoing Suzuki Hayabusa turbo engines, making roughly ~650hp. It took a lot of fiddeling with the water valve settings in the software to get it working. Grounding and shielded cables was also proving to be a challenge, but we eventually got it figured out after alot of trial and error, just like you guys.

I have used to crew for Comp Jet in APBA for a friend and have been river racing my jets my whole life. I am so excited to see this completed, I have never seen a 4 cylinder in a boat... even small block Chevy's are rare in jets! Can't wait to see the finished product. I pray that the boat has a good built Berkley style pump built by a known pump builder, the engine is only half the equation in a jet boat and I want to see this thing succeed!

Not too shabby. I never thought of doing a k in a boat. It's crazy how turbo's have been changing in the last few years. My 2017 vw gti makes 315hp and 380ftlbs, just with a ots stage 1 tune. The power band is fat as hell too. It pulls so nice coming out of turns

Ya that sucks you couldn't get that worked out. Step tuning rocks. The dude thought he was jockeying a carb it looked like, could have got a lot of work done on part throttle not just trying a full pass. The only problem with your theory of using logs in the boat is that that picklefork jet is going to be doing 160mph to dial in the top end! Where's he gonna do that around here?! If you can find an eddy current dyno room instead of water brake, you'll be alot happier when tuning turbos, IMO... Good luck! Can't wait!

I would also like too put the numbers a little bit into perspective.... the indmar raptor supercharged 575 makes 580 ft lb of torque.... that's crazy too think this 4cyl is out performing a 6.2l v8!!! I just hope this honda can handle long runs at 7500 rpm! good work pfi!
