Yes! Yes! Yes! PLEASE! Drawing channel! Even quick sketching holds me up and keeps me from painting. “Draw this little bird shape.” or “Pencil in a tree branch.” makes my blood run cold and stops me from even starting. You’re so good at teaching painting techniques in such a low pressure way that I can only imagine myself getting much further ahead with a few drawing lessons from you.

I will start putting a bit more thought into the drawing side of things. Sorry it is intimidating for you, try not to worry about the accuracy of your drawing though. It can be very fun to draw loosely, inaccurately - always looks good in my opinion xxx

All these are so innovative! Whether chubby chirpers, playfully plumed bright wings, happy hens--they are so neat! I particularly love the diagonal design of the murder of crows. (Can't believe it, but that's what a group of them are called in the U.S.) That across the page grouping is very appealing to the eye.

Tip for white gel pens, to get them started scribble on to your fingertips, it gives more traction to force the ball point to move and seems to oil it too.

These birds were the first I did after finding Diane’s channel. They are so fun and I should do one every day for a warmup. They really are charming! And these long videos are great too, now that I’m trying to stop watching the US news. It’s too depressing.

Thanks Dianne, sometimes that is JUST what I want, 4 hours of painting birds! I love these compilations! Great idea to do, keep doing them when U can! Cats maybe lol! Ps, I also DID NOT know about the fact one is supposed to wipe their water brushes on tissue, not rinse them. I had stopped using them as I wud rinse them and end up sucking up dirty water, which wud end up my paint water in my brush! Grrr! So I had put them away but I'll get them out again now! A water brush bird, just the thing. Thanks for the chickens too, they give us so much and ask for so little, we shud idolise chickens and yet....so sad. We can idolise them in paint tho can't we? Thank k u!!!❤️

I love the drawing and painting. Is there a way to turn off the soundtrack without muting the words? I can hear maybe 2 notes of something and no others. I would much rather listen to Diane's musings and an occasional rooster than the soundtrack.

The birds you hear are outside in the garden - when the weather is nice I leave the door open and they are not far away. We have lots of blackbirds, thrushes, robins, wrens and chaffinches all of which have loud voices!

On the subject of drawing, I could never draw...a child once asked me "why my pig had windows" 2020 before lockdown I decided I would practice every day, even though I worked throughout lockdown I continued to practice and now I'm not too shabby at it! But I can't get the watercolour to behave , I've decided I need to practice that as oft as I can, so hopefully I'll get better lol!

Sorry about that, my daughter works her socks off to try to please everyone when she creates these long video compilations. On this particular long compilation we opted for 50% of the videos to have music, 50% to be without, in an attempt to please most people. (Some of the long ones are completely without music). All these long compilations consist of collated selections of previously shown videos which have been edited together to make long, continuous painting experiences. They have been very popular. You can always mute the soundtrack and put the subtitles on to see what I’m saying if you really hate the sound. I’m not sure what you mean Carolyn about only hearing 2 odd notes, but there’s nothing wrong with the soundtrack quality and I’m wondering whether your speakers are working correctly. I'm hard of hearing, I only hear two notes on the 12 bird tree, unfortunately they are low tones with reverberation that feel like pressure in my head? Anyway long way to say it might be worth getting a hearing test as you can just lose the ability to hear certain tones and feel them rather than hear them through the bones and sinuses. t@@CarolynNoblett

In one of your long vids you held up and recommended a book. Your quote,” if you get this book you don’t need to watch me” well I will continue to watch but, sadly I cannot remember the title. If you know what I’m referencing could you repeat the title and author. It seemed a fairly small ,in thickness, book. Hope that helps. ❤☮️❤️

If you learn how to paint from my videos I have no influence over what you decide to do with your creations. When I use other paintings as inspiration I make sure I go a long way from the original so that mine is really mine. That’s my suggestion, happy painting x
