I grew up watching a 64 Mustang being restored. Saw my Uncle wheel hop the front tire of his Firebird over a soda can, and I own and love my Integra. Cars are awesome... How can anyone claim to be a "car guy" and blindly hate all but one make or model? IMO any guy who only likes one brand or type is just a "car boy"!
Yea props for taking down a, for the most part, stock 5.0. With a good driver, track, and weather he can hit low 12's. Getting an integra into the low 12's/flat 12/high 11's is certainly an accomplishment. Good job.

would take 5 too 6k minumum for a teggy too take a stock 5.0, now ya the 5.0 cost like 25-30k and teggy Round 2-4k but lets be honest it is what it is, a integra with maxed power, stripped interior, mainly for racing while the mustang has a nice interior with leather seats probaly kept everything in car.

My brother for example has a 5.0 with a paxton on it. He runs 11.0 @ 132. It's literally just a paxton and a offroad mid pipe with a tune. You said 10k to get to and from work? That's ridiculous man. Btw, my brothers 5.0 is also a daily driver with 45k miles. He's on RU-vid. Look up john Kyle 5.0 mustang. You can see a vid of him waking a c6 z06 and other stuff. 15 psi. on a built LS-V? 250? Really? That's no 250whp… let alone 250bhp… the top end is insane on the Integra… probably around 320whp if not quite a bit more… Integra weighs 1000 lbs. lighter than the Mustang too. Wish he didn't miss the gears :/

Not only that but I have a friend who used to build hondas. He was getting 377whp on B block and with VERY little work done to the head. I think he got polished valves and thats it. If the ford was at 5psi it'd stomp all over the the teggy.
bottle2lip Ya but you're underestimating the torque factor in cars. Honda makes all of it's power up top and ford down low. When you have torque you don't need to shed weight (or as much weight) to produce consitent numbers where as a honda which is all hp and no torque is greatly affected by something as simple as a passenger or how much gas is in it.
at the end of the day, it doesn't matter wether you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.. am i right? no but piss taking aside, you are spot on with your comment!
ya if you have a stock motor, get some forged internals new block and a tranny upgrade and run 1200hp all day with something more efficient and cooler (turbo)
Vincent R. funny you say that. I had an awesome day testing my buddy's Golf-R trying to break the US record for fastest stock turbo R and he got to line up with a few muscle cars. He ran an 11.99 in his APR stage 2 golf. My best run of the day was a 12.93 in my stock 91 NSX. Horsepower doesn't mean shiiiiit! 12.9 with a GODLY 255 rwhp on 400 tread street tires and a stock clutch. I cant wait for my stroker kit and ITB's!!!
Vincent R. On a stock motor with and auto tranny and a twin turbo with a higher stall torque convertor people are making 900hp and running 9.8-9.3 in the 1/4 mile in a 5.0 (depending on tire and track conditions).

However if i was to build an all out drag car, i would build a muscle car. Its a lot easier to make hp in terms of boosting. I wouldnt pick ford though lol.

Ok, this integra may be "fully built" and it can obviously hold its own around a 5.0, but....got it just sounds so horrible. Weed whacker exhaust ALL DAY. It's all relevant to displacement. Pump enough air and fuel through a 1.8 L motor and you can make as much or more power than a larger 5.0 L motor. It just takes $. Looked pretty quick to me. You gotta love Forced induction.

This mustang is a 5.0. I have other vids of the car including the cluster which shows how high the mustang revs. (not sure if they rev the same, but yall should know) Mustang and Integra owners are friends. This was not a random street race.
Yeah, and the Mustang also has about 3200 cc's more engine pulling it, not to mention the B18 design dates back to the late 1980's. They just developed the Mustang engine lol

There's no replacement for displacement...unless you have a turbo. LOL I'm a big Chevy V-8 guy but my HHR SS Turbo really performs for a 2.0l. I'm getting it tuned soon and should push 350 plus torque and 280 HP to the wheels, not bad for a 4 banger. Turbos really do make up for the massive cubic inch deficit. Welcome to the new world of performance. And I also own a 500 HP '87 Camaro drag car so I'm not a newb to the performance arena, just how it goes these days.
you're quite welcome sir, Yeah i live in the UK and most of the people who are into cars drive hot hatches, because of the nature of the british roads it doesn't really make much sense to have a big muscle car most roads here are too windy and small to make use of all the power and torque of a V8.. that and petrol prices being £1.31 per liter so we stick to lightweight cars with small displacement engines, its all about power to weight out here rather than brute force! have a good weekend!

405whp 5.0 traps ~115 mph. Teg pulled easily so probly 125 mph trap. On 15 psi that's about right for a ls/vtec. If the motor is built that 15 psi is just getting out of bed. 25 psi and it will do 135+ traps. How is any of that "slow"?
