Thank You sir -- This is my first serpentine belt and I was getting no where. I appreciate the effort you put into providing me with a path forward.

This video is the quickest and easiest i have ever replaced this belt. The added steps of removing the airbox, tensioner, and loosening the fan shroud are the trick. These steps pay divedends in making it quick and easy. Watched the video twice through, second time wrote down the belt routing steps. With my steps and a belt diagram this thing went right in. Thank you for a great simple video. The explanation more than makes up for the impossible tight space to film.

I have an 05 Ram 5.9, after working the belt around the fan and after much struggle and restarts, I had the belt under the truck and folded it and thread it through from the passenger side until it looked to be in right place, then I pulled the bottom down and threaded it around, then the top kind of fell into place. I also replaced a pulley and removed the tension pulley. This worked so much better than all the other ways I was trying. Love your diesel videos!! I too am isolated as in rural area so love that too.

Thanks man! Belt replacement is one of them things you do that works the best for you. Thanks for watching God Bless

Helpful. I put zip tie on belt and pulled it through crank and fan pulley, very easy. Putting tensioner on was a pain

Thanks!I must have watched 5 videos on this, yours is the only that worked for me.I did tensioner waterpump belt and idler.Just a heads up that fan shroud comes out fairly easy.It has a hard side and soft side you can actually fold it up on itself.If you have an extra pair of hands 1 guy up top 1 guy on bottom it will slide right out.There is 1 10mm nut holding bracket for the fan clutch needs to be removed.Once I had it out I zip tied so it would stay slides right back In.This is my 3rd waterpump and the belt routing always a pain.I have the diagram but its knowing where to start.Thanks again.I was able to do it all myself but an extra set of hands does help.When reinstalling fan clutch wires and bracket make sure your clear of the fan.The blades clear by like a 16th.

Thanks. Everything you said was pretty much correct. One person can remove the fan shroud. I have a trick for that.

Great video. Wish I would have watched it prior to installing Banks Brake system with new serpentine belt. The belt was the most difficult part of the job having never done it before.

No room in these trucks. Couldn't get my camera down in there to get a better view.

Checked out my belt today, turns out it’s split into 2 belts in some places. Thanks for the video I’ll need it!

Good video. Good channel. You have a very folksey down home way of explaining things. You have done a few things I have looked at doing to my 2004 RAM 2500 5.9. And some I have done. And yes the belt is a PITA but it is doable by yourself. You may have to climb up and down a few times, but it is able to be done without removing the fan or the shroud. And I got the gates belt and tensioner "kit" when I did mine.

I am about to do mine but after watching several videos about this why struggle to get the old one out? Can you not just cut the old belt and pull it out of there? Seems there would be no need to pull it out intact. Thanks
@isolateddieselperformance3261
@isolateddieselperformance3261 2 месяца назад
Yea you can cut it out. The only reason why I didn't do that was to show the step for the ones that need to remove a good belt to change their water pump or any other part but more importantly it will help program your brain on how to put the new one in.

to put on the belt, you don't have to remove the fan?

Do you have to buy a new tensioner when you do the belt?

What happens if i can't move the tensioner pulley
@isolateddieselperformance3261
@isolateddieselperformance3261 17 дней назад
If you're pulling the right direction and it won't move, then you will need to cut the belt off and replace the tensioner pulley.

@isolateddieselperformance3261 oh.. ok. Thanks. My daughter got. An error code that it might be the alternator, or battery cable..etc.. i hope its something simple.. she has an 08 cummings.

Unless you are keeping that used belt for a back up why not just cut it off and not fight it to take it off
@isolateddieselperformance3261
@isolateddieselperformance3261 2 месяца назад
Because I wanted to show the process on how to remove it because removing it will kinda program your brain on what needs to be done to get the new one back in.
