This is a summary of each theory. Please remember that all of the things in this video are for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only, and nothing is official canon or confirmed, it's just my personal theories that are just as strong as any of yours! 1 - The Entity is intentionally torturing The Oni in order to make him more pissed off, and thus, The Entity feeds on his emotions more. Remember that The Entity not only takes survivor emotions but also Killer emotions too. 2 - It is possible (But not confirmed in any way) that the "Spirit" that guided Yoichi was actually The Entity manipulating him into going to the Entity's Realm and fight Sadako. It is a canon fact that The Entity can manipulate characters in the lore, like Plague and The Artist. 3 - There is a very popular fan theory where Pyramid Head is above The Entity. But based on observations of the lore and the blighted cosmetic, and the game mechanics with bloodpoints, it seems like Pyramid Head is just a servant like the rest. 4 - The Entity can take any mythological creature and monster from any culture or pantheon. The implications of this is very wild as The Entity could manifest Godzilla if it wanted to. 5 - The Entity seems to be appearing phsyically even more in the recent maps. And with the change on Halloween events, it seems like it's becoming stronger than ever. I think this is a way to hype up the upcoming games of DBD that will be related to The Entity.
I think that with 5 it might be even something more. Because, as mentioned, the newer maps are more covered in Entity reminding blight blobs, but in one of the first Halloween events when we had this gameplay thing with harvesting Pustula flowers with blight it was said that blight and those flowers are actually harming the Entity, so a perfect example of this growing in power of The Entity might be (possibly) adapting itself to existence of blight with both putting a character that revolves all around it (The Blight) which wouldn't make sense if at that point blight would still be harmful to it, but also with the appearance of blight all around newer maps like RPD and Borgo.
Actually these statues are called weeping angles from the doctor who and this is particularly an aspect from my side .If you read doctor who books or look it up on line
@@MintSkullhe's got more than just spikes. It's cannon that technically the dredge isn't the pile of meat, but the fog holding it up. This black fog not only is a striking resemblance to the entity's black fog, it's nature is similar to the entity, its an embodiment of pure darkness and malthought, and the entity is more or less similar, an evil, eldritch god wanting to feed off the terror off of the survivors. With enough imagination you could say that The Dredge is one of the bleeds in the entity, like the ones haddie encounters. And after the events of the Fold Massacre, the entity found that this bleed had potential, and took it in as another servant that is easily controlled, as it is already born out of the entity.
The Theory that the Entity is getting stronger makes a lot of sense now that its able to not only take people from the future and from myths and legends, but also that it was able to recreate an entire alien world and all the life within it, this just leads me to believe that The Entity was able to consume an entire alien planet for it's realm. To me this makes the Entity one of the most terrifying video game villains ever to me.
Yeah when I was reading Hux's backstory on the PTB, I actually thought it was very cool that it seemed to be implied that the Entity reached out to Hux with whatever artifact that he encountered, and perhaps that also implies that this place has long since been devoured by an Entity. I also like the idea that the Entity isn't unique, and could just be one member of a cosmos spanning species that arrived at Earth.
@brad1426 I always depicted the Entity as being an omniversal elder God that Normal humans can't even comprehend or understand, It's Spider legs are only a form that it uses that can be easily understood by the victims it kidnaps, but it's true form if it was ever seen would drive its victims insane to the point of no return. The idea of being in the point of view of a survivor being constantly tortured and watched by an unknowable lovecraftian being just scares me so much
@@weskintime4177 We have no idea the extent of the entity's power, it has never really shown what it is capable of, all we know is that it is an ancient evil that has most likely been present since the beginning of time, and this is already scary enough.
I'm so glad somebody finally mentioned the fact that we have literally fictional and mythological creatures in the realm. Everybody just sees them as skins and never actually takes them seriously.
That's the major problem. They are just skins in gameplay standards, but reading the cosmetic text gives us clues. If we had mythological creatures as killers in the games' future. Such as a Gorgon like Medusa or one of her sisters. That'd make it clear that the Entity is able to reach even into mythological timelines where the very imagination of greecian people actually manifests into reality.
With pyramid head it's worth noting that it's straight up said to us that The Entity controls cages. "During the second phase of the summoning ritual they will be forced to complete skill checks to hold off The Entity". It's written in the description of his power
For the entity appearing more in maps, I think it was originally meant to show that rather than recreating the RPD from scratch like it usually does with maps, true Entity just plucked the RPD out of space and time, which it could do because the whole city was about to get nuked so no one would notice if a random police station was missing. But yeah, that in and of itself seems to imply the Entity is getting stronger.
For the Greek one, it seems to imply that Theseus and other Greek heroes like him might have just been survivors of the entity’s realm. Think about how many legends deal with the Greek heroes getting lost in a cave or a labyrinth or fighting monsters for 10+ years
5:11 this is such a cool detail I never knew about, I’m suprised they changed the ringu trailer to the entity when they had such an iconic voice actor for the phone call
I’ve had a theory on why pyramid head chose to serve the entity and it ties into James Sunderland being placed in the game. In Silent Hill 2 the player is able to chose which ending they think is canon for James. In the “In water” ending James drowns himself in Toluca lake for not being able to forgive himself for what he did to his wife, even after his journey in Silent Hill. I think the entity most likely took this version of James and placed him into the entities realm, saving him from drowning, but giving him a much worse fate with his tormentor, Pyramid Head. The entities realm is a sort of purgatory for James and because of his existence, Pyramid head can also exist and torment survivors freely in the realm. Sort of ties in thematically with James’s guilt since if it weren’t for him the entity wouldn’t have the PH.
Interesting backstory about Yoichi: in the first movie the reason he ends up watching the tape that leads to him being cursed by Sadako is because he sees a vision of his cousin (the girl killed at the start of the movie) telling him to watch it. So this isn't even the first time the vision of a family member led him to danger.
The "entity growing stronger" also makes sense with new survivors and killers. For spirit, entity was only able to squeak past the "mindscape" to screw with Rins dad. Fast forward to vittorio, entity can now appear in subtle but solid form in the real world (it was the snake that bit vittorios uncle....)
Little fact about pig: I dunno if the wording was changed or the icons are still the same (havent played/faced pig in a while) But when pig released it was stated in the power description that "Survivors that die by reverse bear traps are considerer sacrificed". Matter of fact back in the days when a survivor died by a trap the icon showed wasnt the mori/bleed out skull but the sacrifed skull. So in a sense pig still acts within the entity rules
I like to even think the Entity ADORES the Reverse Bear Trap because of the sheer amount of emotional harvest it brings. You've got a trap on your head that forces you to play a race against time, otherwise it'll outright gore your head open. The Entity allows the chance to escape that fate only to be shredded and hooked by Amanda herself. Otherwise... It's all in the Entity's delicious favor.
@@Polomance862I always thought that too! The Entity would get really benefit from things like the reverse bear traps and PH's cages to harvest more emotions
@@JohnDoe-hj9fhthey really don't, different maps have different pros and cons. Bigger maps tend to be stronger for survivors in terms of time efficiency but weaker in chase due to tile spacing. Smaller maps tend to have more readily chained tiles in exchange for the killers ability to be time efficient in terms of travel. The worst parts of map design tend to be excessive clutter and unituitive hit boxes for certain killers.
@@TeemoQuinton the multiverse is infinitely large and constantly expanding so it's possible that the story as we know it is only related to just one version of a character (the one represented by the default cosmetic) and it's pretty possible that the entity didn't just go after one universe's version of a character, it went for hundreds, thousands or even *every single version of this character across the multiverse* to ensure that it will never run out od dwights or that it can have a blighted and a normal version of a killer, because variety is the spice of life either that, or the killers/survivors still have access to all their clothes and can change their appearance at will, which doesn't seem plausible (at least when it comes to the survivors anyway) then there are characters like the look-see, minotaur, william birkin, hunk, naughty bear or baba yaga, which are still separate characters it's safe to say that they were also plucked from their respective universes at some point (or they just entered it, like in the case of chatterer, who most likely entered the realm in a similar way pinhead did) so in conclusion A: the entity has access to the constantly expanding multiverse and can take whoever and whatever it wants, whenever it wants; the story of each killer and survivor is only related to the default version of the character and the costiumes that change the character into someone else (james sunderland or charon for example) are considered separate from the killer/survivor that wears them B: the entity decided to let the survivors and killers dress up for whatever reason after abducting/inviting/coercing them to join; the cosmetics that change the character into someone else are *also* completely separate from the original killer/survivor
The statues also have a third eye which usually is reserved for characters who are brought back to life by the entity e.g. victor so the statues could be his victims resurrected as statues watching constantly
@@BraidensWorldProductionscounter-counter: Spirit was taken at the edge of death. We know the Entity can bestow supernatural powers (see Doctor), so it's not a stretch to believe the Entity imbued Spirit with ghostly powers
@@dyinginside8716 correct me if im wrong here but i think trapper was brought back when he was dead but he doesnt have a third eye, same with nurse. Nurse is supposedly dead but if we look at her face model (which exists) there is no third eye
@@BraidensWorldProductions I couldn't find anything that suggested Nurse was dead. Her base lore ends with her being found after cleansing crotus prenn--which is where her tome ends--and being put into an ambulance, only for the ambulance to crash and Sally to be missing (taken by the Entity). Sure, the staff in the ambulance were dead but that could also be explained by Sally being gifted her powers by the Entity (which we know can happen before she's taken by it, as seen by Victor reanimating before Charlotte walks into the fog) and telekinetically killing them (and crashing the ambulance, which was my understanding when I first read her lore) For Trapper, his base lore doesn't say anything about what became of him. His tome seems to show a different Evan, given how Evan kills his father compared to Archie being found starved and abandoned in the basement of his own warehouse in the base lore. I can't find anything that implies Evan comes near to death.
Seeing entity goop and glowwy stuff doesnt really imply the entitiy is getting stronger since every map is made of the entity anyway which is how the endgame collapse happens. If anything it implies its getting weaker and so can't recreate the maps as realistic anymore. I doubt that's the case but it makes more sense with the lore
I like to believe that The Entity has no power over PH, Sadako, Pinhead and Myers, and tries to please them by the add-ons Pyramid Head have the Seal of Metatron and the Crimson Goblet. Myers have the tombstone and tuff of hair of his older sister. Sadako have the original VHS containing her curse And Pinhead the Lament Configuration. All of these look like gifts to show these killers the appreciation The Entity has for them, because these are very meaningful items in their lore And let's be honest, although The Entity might be powerful, it still needs to feed and become more stronger and there's NO WAY it'll try to piss off those killers, because then it will suffer from much bigger and powerful beings than itself The Leviathan is Pinhead master Sadako is the daughter of the Sea (a powerful demon) Pyramid Head is a manifestation of guilt of James Sunderland, that took form in the cursed town of the Silent Gods And Myers is the incarnation of evil itself... So yeah! I like to believe that better
Good theory, but apart from Myers who basically forced himself into the realm, everyone else was brought in and PH was personally invited, I don't think it makes sense for the entity to bring in killers who represent a real threat, and let alone just let them stay there, my theory is that it just lets them kill the survivors as they please as long as they feed it enough, and that would be, stalking for Myers, hooking/caging for PH and condemning for Sadako.
@@OriTheBestGame Oh yeah, I completely forgot that about Myers, thank you for remind me! And good points, I agree with the "as long they feed the Entity", but still, they are powerful beings that the Entity should be careful with
@@OriTheBestGame yeah, it was never confirmed that myers forced himself into the realm, only that he wasn't forced into the realm, just like deathslinger just walked into it by the visions entity gave him. Ph's cages are literally controlled by the entity "During the second phase of the summoning ritual they will be forced to complete skill checks to hold off The Entity". Also all of them are rewarded with bloodpoints for killing
When he started talking about Greek mythology all I could think of was kratos being taken into the entity because of how angry he is and just killing everyone in the realm
Maybe one day the Entity is strong enough to create a physical form. Should that be a killer, maybe not but perhaps a survivor, someone born of the entity that has no memory of it's birth but has perks that manipulate the realm in some way or embraces the fog etc.
I talked about this somewhat with a friend before. At some point we should get the entity as a killer or something like it. It would definitely make a good anniversary chapter in my opinion.
Back when I was in a big "chapter concept" phase, I had a similar idea: A killer born from the Entity's understanding of what would illicit the most emotion out of survivors (since, yknow, Entity feeds on emotions and all); I decided on the Grim Reaper--death is a primal fear, after all. Considering how the lore of DBD has developed since I was in that phase, a grim reaper character is certainly possible considering how every piece of fiction is a real universe
Tbh, I think Pinhead is likely the only killer who has more or is equal to the power of the Entity. The fact he just showed up in the Entity’s realm definitely says something.
The crazies part of how powerful Sadako is, is that she might not even be physically present in the entity’s realm at all. When she projects herself from the TV, it’s simply just a manifestation of her power from the well. I believe she has a sort of psychic link with the entity, similar to Cheryl where she can call upon it to block gens, and that’s only a fraction of her full power!
By sheer willpower and her Nensha powers. She survived 20 years in the well before the events of Ringu played out. The lore for the killer in DBD implies that her ghost in the well was consumed as the cabin that was built over the well that had trapped her was slammed by a tidal wave, and the Entity offered a portal for which Sadako willingly walked into. Her spirit is in the realm, rather than just being a projection. BUT. Sadako is a very, very, VERY powerful Onryo. Her fury can be projected onto any screen, and it was through the tape that she was able to manifest a channel. In the entity's realm, she can connect anywhere to project her fury. She could very well be slaughtering many people all at once in various trials.
What if the Entity is real, but can't take anyone from our universe, because DbD exists and it can't risk such large amounts of knowledge of its Trials and abilities from being told to other Survivors and maybe even Killers?
I always assumed the Entity's presence in the R.P.D. map was due to the T-Virus being so mutagenic that it can even affect (in a minor way), a being like the Entity itself. The broken T-virus vials on the hooks seem to hint at this at least.
For Pyramid Head and the other strong killers like Sadako, Pinhead, etc, i don't think it's necessarily The Entity having full dominion over them and more the fact that they are just following the orders of their own respective gods. All of them in their lore serve a higher, older, and objectively more powerful god than The Entity. Sadako's father is implied to be a sea god of the old world, Pyramid Head works for Valtiel and the old ones, and Pinhead is a servant of Leviathan. To be, The Entity while powerful is the new kid on the block to these established and even more powerful gods who humor it by lending out their servants to have fun. A lot of the implied powers when it comes the killers is less of a lore thing and rather game mechanics. I'd say a good comparison to The Entity is someone like Pennywise or Cuthulu. It'd be an old god rather than like an outer god, powerful but subservient to greater beings in the wide multiverse.
You know I think the smaller statue are actually the monk that has been cursed by the Oni and turned into a living statue that moves like a weeping Angels
I think it was Sadako who tricked Yoichi since she already has the soul of his father. Considering Sadako and the entity made an agreement, she could just bring him just to screw around with his father
I don't think this is true. In the movies when Sadako played a part in peoples disappearances those people were always found dead, their faces frozen in fear. When Yoichi investigates there's zero sign that the tape, and therefore Sadako was ever present to begin with. In his lore it states that he found something much darker, and that's when he was taken into the fog. Imo I think it's more likely that the entity had already gotten Sadako and persuaded her to join the realm, but wanted to get Yoichi as well to motivate Sadako so it used his trauma and fear of Sadako to manipulate him into doing exactly what it wanted. Also, Sadako isn't ever actually present. She's not physically there when she crawls through the TV's, it's an image of herself imprinted onto the tape so she can exact vengeance on her victims. She's dead, and at the end of Ringu 2 her spirit is still very much bound to the well and therefore the tape. Ryuji saw to this when he drained Yoichi's fear so he could be free of Sadako forever.
Fun fact, the house Yoichi is seen in is the exact same house from the movie, where Reiko first watches the cursed tape. You can tell from the outside shot.
Now that my dbd wishlist is half complete with the addition to a Sci Fi chapter, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A CHAPTER CONTAINING AN ANCIENT GREEK SURVIVOR AND KILLER
About Pig being able to kill Survivors: The reason why nobody talks about it is because the Reverse Bear Trap ability actually _specifies it counts as a Sacrifice._ Reverse Bear Traps are acceptable substitutes for hooks, not Amanda defying The Entity's control
I feel like the Entity sees Pyramid Head with respect. I think she respects what it represents and what it's duty is and that's why she formed a contract of sorts with it. He can bypass the rules because the Entity allows it. He'll still hook survivors, but the occasional punishment doesn't hurt.
Friendly reminder we are getting 2 more games set in the entities realm, one single player the other 4 player co-op and on top of that a bona fide movie
On RPD that "stuff" is actually T virus from the R-evil series not related to the Entity. The decimated borgo is something else alsp not related to the entity, otherwise it would be in other places.
They should turn the demigorgon or the alien into a Yule Cat cosmetic! Think about it: a giant rabid, fucked up looing cat stalking you through the map! It would be so cool! And maybe like there could be an add on that's basically a picture of clothes, and that would make it so the Yule Cat is less likely to go after you, given the lore of the Yule Cat and all. They could even use it's original name from it's original language!
Actually reading the Minotaur description a bit more closely, it’s more likely that it’s not THE Minotaur, it’s more likely atleast to me, that the entity is recreating the Minotaur from the legend using peoples memory of that legend. So if the Minotaur is a book, the entity is listening to someone tell it the story.
Maybe the reason that The pictures are blured is because yoichi has Face blindness ( i did not search if he did or not but i have it so i know) and the entity couldnt just take the pictures from the memory thats why the faces are distorted in my theory to add to yours which happen after the boat crash and he is taken.
I never liked the Pyramid Head is punishing The Entity theory because them working together, or being symbiotic, just makes more sense. Pyramid Head is mindlessly devoted to punishing the guilty and The Entity feeds upon the pain and torment P. Head summons and inflicts
i kinda disagree with the pyramid head theory. I feel like alot of skins cant be taken at face value keeping in mind that theyre pretty much been done for money, aswell as this the bloodpoint thing said sure is true but again we need to consider them from a gameplay standpoint, that could be very much said as a off comment or a vague rule. I feel personally that pyramid head (keeping in mind that in game he's called the executioner) is punishing the entity. Keeping in game the maps are made by the entity and/or ARE the entity we can say that when pyramid head uses his power he is ripping into the entity and breaking how the trial works. I feel pyramid head's duty is to punish the entity for it's wrongdoings. I'd like to think when PH kills a character from torment that they are actually killed and cant be resurrected
The blighted cosmetics are some of the only cosmetics that are canon to DBD and not fantast like the majority of them. So the Blighted Pyramid Head skin is something that will eventually happen in universe, whereas the other two skins are purely cosmetic!
@@MintSkull ahhhh,, ok. still though you can presume things like the bloodpoint thing said is a vague blanket statement id presume and not something to base everything off of right?
So the torment trail hurts the entity because it's their body? So the hag is also hurting the entity when she digs up the dirt? I don't think PH can be stronger than the entity otherwise it kinda makes the entity seem not as threatening
Also another thing that bothers me How and why Pyramid Head have a Blight skin ? (I'm talking lore wise, not cosmetic wise lol, I like that skin) You are telling me that Blight, a putrid deteriorating living corpse, captured and conducted experiments on a manifestation of guilt of a widower ?? This powerful being just stood there, all chained up in a lab, letting himself be a guinea pig of a mad scientist ????? That is so... Unbelievable lol Btw, I believe the barbwire around the skin is just his power overflowing because of the serum
What if the Entity expands beyond just dead by daylight but every game we play is just a story in its realm it watches and feeds on, thus creating endless cycles of repeated events in an endless expansion of games.
I think entity still doesnt want killers to out right kill their victims and the theory about some killers being more powerful than it can be still right if you add the fact there just might be a power struggle instead of the entity or myers sadako pyramid head etc being stronger they are just more equal especially now that we know entity is growing in power, also just wanna mention the entity is probably ok with pigs traps because the traps still give the entity enough emotion out of survivors just by wearing one (theres the constant fear of it going off, the panic when it starts beeping faster and faster and the hope of finding the right box)
Damn that's creepy, I didn't know the statues are watching you. Does it only apply to killers? What about survivors? Do the statues following their gaze on a survivor?
Idk if this is a theory because at face value it’s like a fact but it might not be canon or has been retconed idk. In mobile dbd there’s a lore climatic where the watcher is looking through the memories of the survivors/killer to see how to escape. His reasoning is that the memories of all the playable characters are from survivors/killers that have or will escape the entity’s realm. So like is this like true, or is it a alternate reality, or is it just a non canon ending?
maybe the souls trying to reach hades aren't actually stuck if the minotaur and charon exist in that universe, then it must mean that the rest of the ancient greek stuff exists there as well including the ancient gods i think it's safe to say that the gods created or chose a new ferryman
The last theory was interesting (i mean the previous were to) but i said that for the conection with the Nicolas Cage DLC, maybe the entity's power is growing so much that it's starting to get actors and similar people. 🔴⚪🔴
I really like all the theories, other than the Pyramid Head one, which I feel is flimsy at best. Of course the Entity is more powerful, but the idea of Pyramid Head being tortured makes little sense, based upon what Pyramid Head actually is. The razor wire is more a physical manifestation of the power of torment it has in my eyes, rather than it being tormented. The wires don't give off any of the effects survivors have. No trail nor red lights. Just basic wire. So I don't subscribe to that theory, although likewise I don't believe Pyramid Head has some power over the Entity. It is what it is: an agreement, no more.
The pyramid head point about how he is being tortured may be wrong as the pyramid head is a manifestation of a character, James guilty and masochistic consciousness so the barbed wire and razor are just pyramid head masochistic nature being enhanced
