INFJ Life Coach Lesson: INFJs are rare, which means they may not realize these five hobbies that make them happy. They have a difficult time finding true companionship because of their introverted nature and enjoy spending time alone. So when it comes down to entertainment or enjoyment there's really nothing better than engaging in the five hobbies we talk about today.

Point 3 is one of the things I most aware of in this list. The bad side is when you begin to collect unrealized startups. It's not that they are actually unrealized, but only in our head and that's important thing to know - how many of your ideas are worth your phisical effords and how many of them will always stay in your head and get them out of your fantasy world will actually make you less satisfy. It's tipical for me to think with lot of enthusiasm about an idea and after the mental fireworks I actually need nothing more. Phisical work and phisical reality will never be in the list of things we are best in. As about the hobbys that I'm aware the list is long: transport, photography, cars, motorbikes and long variety of vehicles and technical stuff about them, history, politics, philosophy, collecting stuff like my over 2500 pens, my room is full of old toy cars, trucks, I almost have no place for me. 😆

I always find myself researching or falling into a rabbit hole for the most random things. Example: I'll watch a movie and then feel the need to look it up on Google to read reviews, learn more about the cast, director, and how the movie came about or I'll do this while I'm watching the movie lol. It's weird but knowing the plot doesn't ruin it for me because it helps me understand the characters more and I can pick up on subtle details and meanings that I may have missed. My husband thinks it's the weirdest thing ever but I don't care. 😂

Maybe we should make a list of our weirdest INFJ hobbies. Mine are these: 1.) Finding out what the parking is going to be like before I go somewhere. I MUST DO THIS. 2.) Watching to see how long it takes for that parent to look up from their phone and pay attention to their kid 3.) Using Dollar Tree junk to make a "fancy" centerpiece for the table, then spending over $200 on organic food for the dinner 4.) Writing a strongly worded email, editing it, rethinking it, rewriting it, using my thesaurus, only to delete it before ever sending 5.) Watching the lines move in the store and trying to guess which one will be the fastest, then trying to decide whether or not I should switch lines or stay put, then trying to add up all my purchases in my head so I know almost exactly how much I'll be paying
@TheWisdomOfTheAges_PsyM_Revd
Your quote: "4.) Writing a strongly worded email, editing it, rethinking it, rewriting it, using my thesaurus, only to delete it before ever sending". This must somewhat hurt. So I'm going to share with you my tip. What I do if I "tergiversate" to send an email to somebody (or not) is that I send it to myself so that the work and sweat is not entirely lost. Nevertheless, I must immediately add that I am not 20 years old anymore so this could at least partially explain why we are behaving differently regarding the topic of an email "being lost or not". Thank you for taking the time to share your list.

@@friedarisse8283 this is a popular question. Born or made. Well our brain connections are first formed then our spine, organs, etc. We are born with a fully functioning brain and personality. Sure, we keep developing into adulthood and fully grown up mentally, psychologically by 25-30 years. If we are connected to have NI dominate, Fe to closely follow on, Ti a good back up and Se when we really have to, then good luck in changing that. I would say we are all born with a distinct personality.

I've always felt different. I remember my mom telling me that at 10 months old I became potty trained. I was the first child so my mom was super prepared for me. I couldn't walk or even talk at 10 months old. She was holding me and I pointed to the wooden potty chair she had for me. I kept pointing and so she sat on me on it. At that very instant I was potty trained. I was a nurse for 38 years. I was very organized and very timely and was able to multitask. I had this boss, Jamie. She started a travel nursing business. I had just arrived home from a 6 month assignment in California. My sister pointed out the business. I went in applied for a nursing job traveling around central and western ND. I took the month of June off. She called me every week to see if I could start early. I ended up being one of her best nurses. She sent me to every new facility that she signed in a new contract. She paid me very well! She saw my special gifts and paid me handsomely. I was accused of not doing my work, because I was always finished due to my organization, timeliness and multitasking. She worked when she had an empty shift she couldn't fill. So she saw me at my best and taught her many things. I was a pragmatist, if I saw a problem I was able to come up with a solution to the problem and fix it. I'm creative with crafting, decorating, cooking and baking, I love reading and being informed. I have become interested in political discussions and can hold my own. I am really reserved and have a very large vocabulary and use it often. So I would say these are my creative elements of myself!

The potty part made me smile. My mother told me that one day she sat me down and explained to me (I started to speak very soon) that I was going to go to nursery care and I needed to learn how to use the potty. Apparently I said "ok", I learnt that same day and I never used diapers ever again.

I'm 64, and I love watching nature. Just watching, not naming and categorizing. I never fit in with most nature watchers because I don't care to learn the genus and species, and I don't want to classify or have goals to achieve. I just want to watch, appreciate, and imagine what the lives of the animals are like and why they might be doing this or that. Also numbers and inanimate objects have personalities for me. These things come alive in my mind. When I studied writing and linguistics and wrote poetry, essays, stories, etc., I was deeply involved and published some writing. But overall, I didn't and don't have an interest in the competitive world of publishing. I have felt like a failure so many times because of it. Now I know - it was my hobby, not a failed career. I love editing and tutoring - these are my forever hobbies and have become the bulk of my career. Thank you for helping me understand my life, Wenzes!

100% true.. I'm seriously addicted to watch dance performances and to watch how much other people love to dance. My friend always tells me I ought to stop dreaming about dancing and finally start doing it and yeah, I kinda would like to learn, but whenever I try, I start missing that passion I saw in everyone else and give up, feeling inadequate. Watching your video now, I finally realise that what you said about loving other people doing their hobby is actually really what I'm in love with, so THANK YOU for finally making me understand what this really is about and there's no reason for me to feel depressed about it anymore.

What are some of my favorite hobbies that seem INFJ-related? Out of the five that you mentioned, rebellion is the one hobby I find myself doing. Not rebelling in the careless way. Rebelling because I am not doing the same things everyone else is doing. For instance: My main hobby is automotive restoration. Most guys will purchase an engine already built and ready to run out of the box and pay someone else to do the things they either don't want to do or don't know how to do. As for me, I take the position of "Built, not bought!". I built my own engine, transmission, and everything else to how I want it to perform and look. I have done everything. I just simply wanted my own touch to it. One of a kind. Like me. I also have done it this way because it's not easy. Yet, I have enjoyed myself. Going against the grain is fun.

Regarding optimizing, I have always described to people that we need to find the easiest and simplest way to complete a given task correctly. Most people don’t get I because we have always been told there is only one way to do a particular task correctly. Rebelling, definitely a part of me. I have never been one to join the crowd and it has served me very well.

You just described most of my life. (now 90) I've never seen them as hobbies, but you've given me something that I will chew on because it makes sense. I've been called a shit disturber many times over the years, especially when I was a community activist/advocate. I remember once a government employee, whom I knew quite well and liked, approached me on the street and told me that at a recent in-house meeting his superiors told everyone they were not allowed to associate or be seen with me in public places. My reaction was one of mirth and the conclusion that I must be effective in what I was doing. Love your videos Wenzes and enjoy connecting all the dots in my life.

Thank you for the new perspective, I now dont feel like a total weirdo since I relate to all 5 of them. I have always loved watching my sister get ready to go out. From styling her hair to doing her face and choosing a perfume- it just facinates me how much care and self love she puts into a semingly irrelevant event. But to her, it makes her feel good and she just lets me be the quiet observer; I love this more than anything. I learnt to crochet so that I can have new things to try all the time, sometimes it means pulling it all out and starting fresh all over again just to keep me engaged with the colour set that I had chosen. I have accepted this as part of my hobby and not a set back. Mysteries are my favourite and many rabbit holes later, I have decided that they are easier to break free from if presentented in a text format. With the number of dissertations I have read, I could have been a doctor by now 😅 Optimization is one that I have always seen as a skill, many companies have benefited from my approach to minimal effort for maximum output. And finally, rebellion.. this one made me laugh. It brought back a memory of a dream that I had as a teenager where I loudly declared in the middle of a grocery store that I was not a sheep. That I could walk my own path, despite everyone else being part of a train-like curcuit with their shopping carts. Onwards and upwards with a new perspective ❤

Similar to Yoda exploring the dark side, but without succumbing to it. I found myself in that position. I observed other people engaging in it and learned from it. I used only my empathy, not actually engaging in it physically. I experienced it, but I didn't genuinely embrace it; my primary goal was to understand the dark side, to comprehend why its practitioners were drawn to it. It was more about gathering information and delving into the psychological aspects of it.

Bang bang... you nailed it!!!❤️In regards to the first hobby, watching or listening to someone share what they're passionate about for me, is that glimpse into their heart & getting to witness pure joy in action!❤️Thanks for claiming optimization as a hobby, lol, I just thought I was either really lazy &/or perpetually procrastinating!!! My sister & I have driven family & friends crazy with our zest for details!😄 I've never identified it as rebellious, I've left many conversations with the person(s), scratching their heads like "what?" I seldom find myself in discussions, where I don't immediately derail what's being presented to me. I don't mean that I don't listen to what the other's offering. Nor do I come off like I'm superior or a know it all. I genuinely am open to knowledge & therefore I instinctively feel the need to filter the bs out. Then we can have a real conversation/discussion. Then we all be on the right path to, or simply arrive at the truth of the matter! Love your incites!!!❤️ You're a jewel!! ❤️You're the best!❤️

This was helpful Wenzes. I have been a life long "optimizer". It is as natural as rain to me to try to make something simpler and easier. Probably because I like to conserve energy and not work harder than I have to. You gave me a Eureka moment because you classified that as a "hobby". Yes! That fits. No matter how hard I have tried to adopt conventional hobbies like fishing, building models, etc. they have never really been satisfying. I think the old adage of "you are what you do" is true and we INFJs just need to be prodded into recognizing it. If you like to re arrange your bookshelf regularly than that is your hobby!

I do a new thing, astronomy-based astrology... my case studies are extremely precise... I adore looking at the specific auspices of the individual stars (according to the physical science of the stars, by my determination) and HOW THE CELEBRITY LIVES OUT THOSE AUSPICES... it's terrifically inspiring to me... I made it a key part of the methodology in my astrology coaching...

I ❤ rollercoasters, but if you have questions about the content feel free to ask. I'm sure a number of us viewers along with Wenzes herself include MBTI/Typology as a hobby 🙂 To start- Ni-Ti is shorthand for the first & third functions of the INFJ (Introverted Intuition & Introverted Thinking). Looping means you're only using functions of one attitude. In this instance- Introverted as opposed to Extraverted.

Love this video and can definitely relate with all of this... I love watching people pursuing their passion, and I love to support them in that even if I lack that myself. I also absolutely love starting new things and new scenarios, it seems like I always have endless ideas and not much time and energy to give them practical shape. and yes I don't fear taking the lone road, in fact it excites me. I can see so much potential in the world around me and I wonder why don't everyone question the shitty society we've built around ourselves. you can say my peers view me as rebellious. I am also very good at learning my potentials early on and not wasting my energies in areas where I feel I cannot excel after a limit r I simply don't have the wish to. that's how I optimize my life and that's why I have like tons of hobbies, like painting, reading, cooking, writing collecting cute boxes and stationary, besides being a medical student.

1) observing other people doing their hobby. (RU-vid indulging of other people’s hobby) observing is the essence. Experience how others feel in this. Not wanting to be or do… but through the other 2)we love understanding mysteries. Not a habbit, it’s a real hobby! You keep searching for a solution till you understand (NiTi loop) it can be something excited, look at it more light. 3) we like to start something new. It seems you can’t stickBUT we love to look in the black box, start anew. We are starters. Not a storekeeper. Create something with little. We have the ability to create new, naturally. Logic out of nothing. Organize it on purpose: to start something new. Fulfiil the need for novelty 4) Optimizing: maximum results with minimum effort. The bare minimum for the best outcome. Wholisticly. How to set up our life… some areas you will not do the bare minimum. You pick the right battle: plan your life strategically. 5) rebelling. Path not traveled, looking in the black box. You are built for it. Our mind does not feel it’s missing something. Use rebellion safe for the parts you want to keep safe. And rebel in the right areas for you.
