I never do any of that just to do it. Better to test and do a full GI panel before treating for something that isn’t even there. Jericho’s poops always come back negative for parasites.

IMO I think those bigger prey are okay to feed cats bc they provide the same nutritional needs or even better nutrition to our cats just like smaller prey. Just like big cats, our small cats are also obligate carnivores. But it’s really not necessary to feed them large prey if you can’t afford or don’t want to. You can always stick with chicken, mice, rats, quails, rabbits, etc..

You’re right that a cat would not hunt down larger animals. However, variety is necessary. So we use these animals for specific nutrients since we are not feeding 100% whole prey.

@@cloroxbitch2491 I was kinda more curious about the types. Like beef, a tiny domestic cat would never in real life get access to beef except through humans so it's not a natural pray meat for them. It's convenient for us yes cuz we farm them. But is it good to use animal pray that our cats would never get in the wild...ie, it's not their natural food protein. Like you said, It probably doesn't ultimately matter cuz it IS a good source of protien., I just don't think large pray is natural our to small cats.

@@ThingsAbove333 A year ago one of my cats got sick from anything I fed her. I found the only thing she could keep down was raw ground beef. Both cats are fine now and raw ground beef is a part of their regular diet. Beef has taurine and lots of other vitamins and minerals that cats need. Just make sure the beef is fresh and handle it properly, as if you were going to eat it. Good luck.

You can get them from the pet store. I often use feeder mice. But from the video she says she buys hers from Raw feeding miami

I know you're not asking me but I did get Dr Marty's probiotic pre and probiotic it is absolutely amazing my cats have white fur in their fur and the white just gets so white on that stuff and I tested it off and on so many times and it's definitely that stuff so he has the best and I tried Jackson Galaxy's pre and probiotic it wasn't nearly as good and it has a taste to it that they won't eat so I have to kind of shove it in their mouths and Dr Marty's is tasteless I know that's not what you were asking about but I tried his food in my cat's personally wouldn't eat it but they don't want to eat anything right now unfortunately I mean not anything I've tried so many Brands Raw canned kibble they don't like any of it anymore. So now I'm stuck with a freezer full of Viva raw that they will not touch

Yes bones are best but kelp can help prevent plaque from forming into tartar. You can put it in the food because apparently it works systematically. You would use a small amount bc you don’t want to overdo iodine. That’s completely dependent on your cat’s needs and what you’re currently feeding.

My cats were on raw food - one recovered from FIP. The veterinary care is pretty bad in Australia...I wouldn't even be able to ask for full exam etc here without pushback and the usual insistence on drugs etc. It cost me $3000 for them to tell me to put my FIP cat down!!! It was a black market drug that is only allowed in some places that saved his life. God led me to it no doubt. Sorry, I'm off track I just declare the corruption everywhere lol. Anyway my cats were raw feeders but are going off and become very difficult to feed. They wont keep to routine either. I have had to use wet foods now bcs they will not eat their expensive organic raw! I buy packs that come with organs etc but are already ground. So my only hope is to either try another raw brand or throw some chunks in some how... all I know is one of them wld rather hunt bugs in my backyard (they only stay within my property) and won't want to eat till 10.30pm at night and furthermore wants to be handfed if its raw! Now the other mimics this too. Still haven't managed to get them interested in bones. Tried treats etc too.They are both just over 1 years age. Iv allowed a big problem. Trying to fix it. Very hard.

My cat plays with mice. He catches them outside, picks them up gently (sometimes by the tail) brings them in the house and chases them, like a toy. I get the butterfly net out and eventually catch them and release them back outside. This has happened a half a dozen times. I eventually moved the bird feeder (attracts mice) away from my cat's outdoor catio. From what I have read, unless the mom cat taught the kitten that whole prey is food, they really don't know what to do with them. That's why they just end up playing with them.

I haven’t fed whole cornish game hens but I hear that others do. If there are pieces the cats are leaving behind chances are the piece is too big.
